I agree with the retaining of young talent but nowadays recruiting good players leads to a good team. Look at Manly they built players like Foran, Cherry-evans, Stewart bros, Watmough but they also bought major players like Lyon, Galuvao, T Williams and Orford from the Eels that led to their success as a club you need to buy in a team there must be someone to guide the team and we already have lots of space in the cap. I was worried about williams too but we have resigned JWH, Cordner, Taka, Moga so bringing him in will sacrifice no juniors just use empty space in the cap plus we need a few players gone like Leilua and J Carney, Arona. Mini may also retire meaning we could buy Locke and a decent winger and lock is what we need. And SBW will add that x-factor to our team there is no real creativity in our backline thats where
SBW comes in. We also need a better left winger and Moga to be given a debut. Maloney will then lift pressure of Pearce's ooksshoulders and we have a pretty strong pack. im sure if we recruit good and our juniors flourish we will become a success from 2013 and have an era of success. Brian Smith also needs to harden up to ensure that. Go the chooks. Cereal is good for your diet.

      Well said mate,
The best coach in the game is Bennett but he makes teams good because of his gameplan he doesnt necessarily turn players into stars but his gameplan strategies are boring but efficient and he is a strict coach along with Bellyache.
Bellamy on the other hand likes to build teams and a strong squad. Look at Adam Blair an average forward later turns out to be the most expensive forward in the game courtesy to Bellamy. This is what we need a coach that develops our players with him he will turn Pearce into the future Cronk, Tasi into Blair, Jwh into Moz, Moga into Folau etc. Another advantage is we have a good NYC squad so if we can get the best out of them well turn into a powerhouse. Along with that if we have Maloney, SBW and a decent winger and maybe a 2005 version of Minichiello(if he retires)we would consistently be in the top 3 each year and also Bellamy stays around clubs for a long time unlike Bennet who looks for the most money and Smith who ends up ruining clubs after getting them to GF's. Smoth ended up being a one-hit wonder i cant say hes a bad coach but he is unefficient and too soft, gives to many chances and has poor recruiting eg if a storm winger was playing bad for 2 wks Bellamy would send him to 2nd grade Smith on the other hand waits for him for 6 wks to perform then kicks him out after his best game Smith is uncompetitive a good coach always works on the strenghths and weaknesses after each game Smith just blames the ref and weather and says well theres always next week! after last weekscloss to the Cowboys maybe Morts will move to 5/8 and Anasta to lock and Moga to centre and Tagive to wing Arona out for Bosden. On that outcome and consistency i reckon with a lineup like that we might scrape into the 8. 5th at best but i reckon 6,7 or 8. if theres no change i would be flattered to finish 10th

your musings on our coach are very astude fred. I get a feeling he is not part of the future and his job is almost completed. not saying he has failed but think he is close to completing his mission and hopefully we will move onwards and upwards with another at the helm. My mail is Stuart and Cartwright are both coming home and will be in charge of first grade. Stuart head coach, Cartwright and Jason Taylor as co-coaches. Cartwright will work mostly with the forwards and Taylor with the backs and in particular with Mitchell Pearce.

Four years, including one with a player in the mould of Freddy (barring the defence) and a spoon.

We need a better roster. From now on we should not sign juniors from other NYC teams only our own. If a player plays 2 bad games in a row he should take a holiday to Newtown. Briath can go to lock Morts to 5/8. Better recruitment. Less errors, better defence and get rid of J carney and Arona

I agreed of building the team, but do we have any ideas is that what the club is prepare to do. I do think smith still have his value for the club but JT would be the right person to step up as a coach with someone kinda hard nut type of person (old school forward) to harden them up with a strong discipline & strong team culture in place.
I think there is nothing much wrong with mini at the moment, he is doing all the basis right, just need a ball player on #6, so hopefully smith would make that #6 change soon or later. The only thing about JT is not so hard on his players

                          MISTER Walker.....

Good mail there, I too have heard, virtually straight from the horse's mouth, that Ricky Stuart is under SERIOUS consideration by key members of the Board of our club. And I mean SERIOUS, SERIOUS consideration.

Bringing Cartwright back down here would be unbelievable, with a view (agreed by all parties) that he would be the next first grade coach after Ricky.

Perhaps we can entice Dean Pay as well? That would be the icing on the cake.

In any event, the recruitment of a Stuart-Cartwright coaching team, would FINALLY signal to supporters, fans, sponsors, existing players and of course members, that the club is on a mission to win a premiership!

Not a lot of such signals in recent times.

                            Which horses mouth???

What would Carty do that he hasn't been able to do with an open chequebook and salary cap???

Why would Pay come back here with all the success and pace of Life in RL without the heat in Melba???

What signal about winning a comp???

Are you suggesting the coaches and players aren't trying???

LOL, pRicky wouldn't last 5mins before the agendaites started again. This all started with pRicky and it will just be DeJaPoo.

I'm not saying we wouldn't go for him, or it would be a bad thing if we did, but why would anyone think anything would change with him???

It would have to be better than Brian Smith and his retarded son. Also what has fitzy offered so far? Not saying he has othered nothing because I wouldn't know. The team seem as stupid and as weak as ever and I would llike to know what the reports are on Fitzy's work.
