For clarity, might be worth prefixing with "I read in the papers that...." or "I reckon that...." or "talking completely out of my arse....".

    Just to avoid confusion.

    Cheers.

He might provide good value down the track potentially but to suggest that he has already given us great value is laughable.

The club wont give smith the same support that the bronx gave bennett because there is a big difference between the two coaches. One of them, the players love to play under, the other is the opposite.
Fair point, he was just another example of a fringe player who's likely to give us great value.

What's your source on the latter?

If we had have been beaten in the Tigers game (which was a bee's dick away from being the case) then Smith may have been able to continue with the building strategy - my observation was that has put us back a little on re-building.

My other observation is that the club remains committed to the strategy of long term success through developing youth over short term success. I suspect you may be disappointed if you believe that Smith is about to be sacked.
I somewhat agree with your observations, I don't think a loss to the Tigers would've resulted in anything different than what has happened. Everything went right in 2010, it's easy to cover up little stuff ups with the excuse of look how well we're going and as the old saying goes you learn more about yourself and the people around you when things aren't going well. I dare say the true colours of players and our culture came out in '11 and only then did Smith get a true understanding of what needed to be done. He's in the best position of anyone to turn this club around, a sacking at the end of this season would make absolutely no sense at all.

                            2010 was Todd Carney

Being beaten 18-0, 44-4, and 50-12 has shown me that in sharp detail.

PIM the Dogs put 60 on us in 2010 with Carney in the team. I also can't see how a defensively dodgy 5/8 stops 50 and 44 points being scored against us?

He doesn't. But if we score points, we don't have points scored against us.

We have handed the ball back to the opposition on more occasions than any other team, without scoring points.
