Look at the improvement in other young halves such as Daly Cherry-Evans at Manly and Shaun Johnson at the Warriors over the last 18 months. It's more than a coincidence that team-of-the-century halfback Andrew Johns does regular one-on-one sessions with both players.
Both have played 20-30 games max and have been in the game for just over a year, in what way are they the bench mark in this instance? Take a look at Wallace, Mullen, Walsh & Sandow's development as a fair comparison. 20-30 games isn't development ffs, Tim Smith had a great first 20-30 games.
Blues coach Ricky Stuart has shown the young Roosters halfback remarkable loyalty over the last couple of years.
Ricky Stuart has been in charge of the Blues for 1 year, need more be said?
In Darwin on Saturday night, Pearce was hardly sighted against the Cowboys.
No shit, the game was already over before any of our play makers got a chance to do anything, that's as far as his in depth analysis of Pearce's season to date in the article btw...
The young Broncos could have struggled this year without Lockyer's guidance and direction but Wallace
The young Broncos..... lol
Hodges, Hannant, Parker, Glenn, Civoncieva & Thaiday for starters have a wealth of First Grade and representative experience beyond anything in the Roosters side... this article is nothing but another agenda driven piece of crap that fails to deliver an indepth analysis of why Pearce has struggled to take the next step and how more coaching would help him.
The only half decent point made (and it's not even really made it's just inadvertently suggested) is that Pearce would benefit from having Matty Johns as his halves coach. Even then it fails to deliver on the reasons why or how he made Cronk one of if not the best halfback in the game from one who was a pretty ordinary player for a number of years and whether it would actually be of benefit to Pearce.
It's been known for a long time that analysis and research aren't a trait of the Daily Telegraph or Rothfield but geez it'd be nice to actually read a well written article discussing the reasons why rather than just sensationalised assertions with no proof or argument to back it up.
When Smith, Anasta and Mini are moved on you'll see a better Pearce, until then expect his only good stuff to come when he's running the ball near Maubs and SKD.
WHO GIVE A FLYING FARK WHAT ROTHBEETROOTHEAD SAYS.

My friend PWN hates this bloke with a passion like no other, however i doubt he would disagree with any of that article, only a devoted follower from the church of Pearce could i guess.
There is no stand-out 7 for NSW. Wallace is a very similar type of half to Pearce and has done nothing that I can recall at Origin level. His importance to Brisbane was pretty clear on Friday night, the machine rolled on without him
