What does that say for our coaches who let Verrills go for Smith?

I'm sure you like most people thought Brandon Smith was a great signing.

The season hasn't finished yet. I recall Brett Mullins copping heaps early on. Turned out to be one of our best signings in years. Same with Morley, Teddy and even Freddy was labelled as "Shiitler" on here at one stage. How did they turn out?

What does that say for our coaches who let Verrills go for Smith?

Verrills spent more time in the injury ward instead of playing on the field. I don't blame the staff and the brains trust who saw an opportunity to sign someone who might have been on paper and based on his playing resume from the Storm (2021 Dally M Hooker of the Year Award) "better in comparison". The upside was attractive as the risk-benefit ratio with keeping Verrills as the primary hooker was a high perceived/projected risk.
