I was saying last year Robson would be a better buy than Smith purely because of Smith's lack of 80min output...

I remember getting crucified and reminded that he was in fact the 2021 Dally M Hooker of the Year and that I was being negative... now I'm one of the few on here that defend his performances for us.

Smithy is a great impact player no matter what position or what club he plays for, but he will never be that crafty 80min hooker who can turn a game and manage a game. He is a ball-runner and momentum player. We can still get some great footy out of him but we need to alter our expectations. I doubt the rumor is true but I don't want to see him leave this quickly if it has a half truth to it.

Robson is far better option and probably Top 4-5 hookers in the game.

Grubber is not Uncle Nick (well maybe he is). Anyways, maybe these conversations did take place. It does not mean they will eventuate. It just takes one person involved in the negotiations to say no and it is over. The players and coaches involved do not have a gun to their head.
