My surprise is Greg Bird... How often does this guy get through? I'm sure there's another better lock in NSW.

I really do not understand the Jennings and Hayne selection, I hope they prove me wrong, but Hayne is playing injured and has just lost his pace and electricity I suppose. I have a feeling Jennings can turn his current form around when he is playing in a better side, but I still think it is not fair.
I would like to see Dugan out on the wing though, I like Stewart at fullback, he is a great player and deserves it, but Dugan is amazing at the moment too and I dont know what he has to do to get a spot.

What I would have gone with:
1. Stewart
2. Hayne
3. J. Morris
4. Jennings
5. Uate
6. Carney
7. Pearce
8. Woods
9. Farah
10. Grant
11. Bird
12. Lewis
13. Gallen
14. Buhrer
15. Tamou
16. T. Sims
17. T. Williams
I can understand the inclusion of merrin instead of woods and grant so im not too phased by that but think woods and grant are better players. Sims offers way more than creagh and can play the prop/backrower role that they want creagh to play however is far tougher, more physical, powerful and aggressive. I also think an extra prop (woods/grant) instead of g.stewart would have been a wiser choice. We need more size and power and quite frankly, with bird, buhrer and lewis all in the side, there is hardly a need for a g.stewart type player - all of these guys play exactly the same. Gallen imo is most effective from lock - his ball skills and hole running when free to roam the field at lock are lost when he is used as a battering ram but the fact that he has that ability to move upfront would be useful as the game progresses as you are only carrying 1 specialist prop on the bench.
The backline they have nailed. although b.morris has been in form, hayne and uate should pick themselves every single year and I think dugan is underdone, mini is a bit old and coote is still too raw so b.stewart deserves the #1 and provides a bit of experience. J.Morris is the form centre in the comp and has been there before while jennings is proven at origin level and is a genuine match winner. Pearce and Carney have an awesome understanding and complement each other perfectly.
EDIT: Other things that I think they need to more strongly consider is picking maubs at right centre. Containing inglis is almost as important as having a genuine strike option in the centres. Maubs is one of the best one-on-one defenders in the NRL and would offer plenty from an attacking perspective as well particularly with carney and pearce in the side. He would also work well off lewis imo as his hole running and good hands would mesh well with lewis' athleticism and ball playing.Last edited by roz; 05-13-2012, 08:08 PM.

Oh Dear NSW not again.......
Seriously do the NSW selectors take drugs. Have they not learnt anything from being pumped by us the last 6 years. Ben Creagh??? Buhrer??? Trent Merrin??? FFS.
If it was me Dugan has to be there. Got that X factor you need in origin. A back 3 with him Hayne and Uate would have been lethal. Tariq Sims to has to play as well. Just an out an out origin player. Watmough has been one of your best for the past few years yet doesnt get picked??
Here comes number 7

I just cannot belieeeeeevveee Whatmough isn't there. What the FARK??? Just an automatic selection. Sticky picks about 73 mobile back rowers but leaves out the most important one. Farkin idiot. Enjoy origin while it lasts Sticky. The garbage run beckons. And stop trying to get the roosters job back via the ranga weidler, its not gonna happen.
