Standard response I have no doubt if Cronulla were doing poorly and Carney going average Those who wanted Carney gone would be making plenty of noise about it They would not let it go
These people would be putting the boot in
I respect all our moderators here. Past present and even future. Always have done and always will do a wonderful job.
I would be putting the boot into him no matter what. He has been punted from 2 clubs now for basically the same crap. Good on him for playing well ATM but history has shown that it wont last. I hope for his sake that it does but for some reason, I doubt it!

Yes good post. I was against the Carney sacking at the time but in hindsight, well clubs just don't sack players that good unless they really really have to. You have to assume there was probably a lot more behind his sacking that we don't know about and he really just had to go. Same at Canberra, of course they didn't really want to sack him but they had to. Same as the Sharks will probaby have to one day as well.
Carney is making a mug out of the club and those that wanted him gone Like quite a few knew he would One of the dumbest decisions by the club if not the dumbest in my living memory
Well done Easts We just sacked the best player to join the club since Brad Fittler FOOOLS

Thanks, John
All we need to remember is that Toddy did good in 2010 & then went to seed.
Could 2012 be the Sharks 2010?
Better than even money bet, me thinks.

Something abouts leopards
And yet we've had Death and Poison for 6 years and he's a sober, nice guy and minus Carney he's...
I hope you see my point.
I'm also making a pledge here that can be thrown back in my face at any time next year that I will not, repeat not bag/death ride or otherwise impugn James Maloney.

No they sacked Carney because Smith has Politis brainwashed. It's true, I read it in another thread
We gonna have a Soward thread and a Freddy retired too early thread as well?
Carney was like a bad kid. You hate scolding your kids too hard (in the non-physical sense of course), but at the same time when you set boundaries then you have to be consistent in your rulings. It sends the wrong message if you are constantly making exceptions for 1 brat because he's talented... and others who obey the rules get sick of it (or run amok themselves... because "he can do it.")
S*x because Carney is such a good player but I've moved on. Pearce and Maloney are also really good halves, however neither of them have a habit of getting in trouble.
All the best to Carney though... looks like this will be his year (Origin victory + a big role in the Kangaroos squad replacing Lockyer.)

You are preaching to the choir.
And yes, I see the point. But we shan't go any further....I have to pull my nose hairs out.
Yep and our club chose to take the side of the senior players & coach smith, none of whom are now considered good enough to be there next year apart from possibly mini.
