Perth itself is not much chop but is pleasant enough for a few nights but the south west corner is stunning and well worth it, the rock formations around Denmark are stunning, the tall timbers around Pemberton amazing, the wineries around Margaret River always worth a look and a couple of other smaller wine areas near Denmark and around Mount Barker if you are into wine, also the Busselton Jetty and under water observatory are a must do.You can either drive from Perth straight to Albany which takes about 4.5 hours then slowly work your way back up closer to the coast picking a few places where you want to see and stay, it is well worth it.

Last time we were there which i think was in 2017 we also drove 2 hrs north of Perth to see The Pinnacles, quite amazing driving around them close to sunset, it actually felt as spiritual as Ularu and Kata Tjuta.

Perth itself is so so but does have the lovely Kings Park and it is only a quick train trip to Fremantle which is a great sea side town with lots of history and great sea food.
Also there is a day trip across to Rottnest Island, home of the Quokkas but speaking to friends who had been there lately they said it had become a bit of a tourist trap rip off,

14 days would give you a nice comfortable time to see lots of thing and also rest i think, think last time we did the trip we had about 12 nights.

Very umeventful flight down but its annoying how getting to the airport and waitimg around is longer than the actual flight.
Cool down here but not cold yet but every shop you go into the heating is turned up to a 100 degrees. Just had a quick walk along Lygon St which is usually known for its tourist trap Italian restaurants but seems to be a bit of an Afghan and Middle Eastern take over and less Italian, lots of empty shops too.
Will just have a nice quiet dinner somewhere along the strip and plan for tomorrow which will be most likely checking out Queen Vic markets as a starter.

Thanks Vasco, walked past Brunettis when going to the supermarket to get some bottled water earlier today.

Went to Tiamo for dinner, fabulous dinner, shared the mussells which were really good, had a pizza off the specials menu with Italian sausage and rapini, it was excellent, the slight bitterness of the rapini and the fennel in the sausage was stunning, walked away totally satisfied.

Checked out Brunetti properley after the dinner, almost slipped into a food coma looking at the cakes and sweets, will definately be going back to get something sweet from there.

OMG, just having lunch at Brunettis now, the pizza slices and paninis are amazing and just been told by the better half that the coffee is good too. Will get either cake or some buscuits on the way out.

Tiamo for dinner tonigjt as they have a rabbit dish on the specials list.

My better half is saying thank you to ever suggested Brunettis because of the lunch today and the sweets we are eating out on our balcony now , so thank you Vasco, i can't believe we have walked past it so many times without trying it. Bought some almond and cherry biscuits to bring home.

Dinner at Tiamos was fabulous again, the Rabbit casserole was superb, i said to a staff member i wish more places i wish more places would have rabbit on the menu, sampled the better half Veal also and it was so tender and yum.

Sort of glad Tiamo and Brunettis arent close to where i live as i would be the size of a house in no time.

Awesome, glad you liked it. Was one of my regular go-tos when I lived in Melbourne. It's amazing that Sydney has no place even remotely like it. They're at Melbourne airport now too.

And Tiamo's is one of my faves. Hasn't changed in over 20 years.

You are so right, have nothing like that in Sydney or any where else around the country, i really like how they have every thing in sections, cakes and sweets at the front, other things like danishes and the coffee and drink area in the middle and the panini's, pizza and other savouries up the back, saw a few people ordering the pastas also.

Tiamo has been a go to when we are in Melbourne, had some really good meals from there over the years but the two visits this trip the food was sublime, i couldn't fault any of the dishes we ordered.

A couple of days next week in Taree coming up for a 90th Birthday, looking forward to giving the new car another good run.

Down the south coast just after the June long weekend for a stay at Cuppits winery and then staying with friend at Ulladulla and Berry on the way back.

Still have some other trips later in the year coming up to Orange and will probably do the mid North Coast in November.

Looks like I might be planning a trip to the US next year to follow the NASCAR circus around for a few weeks.

Taree trip cancelled because of the dangerous conditions. Party at the club cancelled because there is no guarantee that the club will be open as it had to be evacuated today because of rising water.
