A very sensible move I think Horrie. The weather forecast looks pretty dire.

I’ve started looking at some of the WA places you mentioned. It looks really good. There’s a lot of good things to do there and places to explore. We’re thinking of returning to the UK late next year and adding Ireland and Northern Ireland this time. I would love a little domestic trip before then but not sure if we can fit WA in before then. I wouldn’t want to go when it’s stinking hot or too close to a possible big overseas trip. Hmm…decisions, decisions.

        • Contemplating a surf trip OS. Somewhere warm! Fiji or Bali would be nice!

Yes that's what you have to weigh up, save for the O/S trip or do a domestic trip before hand, i suppose a good way of looking at it is WA is always going to be easier to get than the Europe/ UK so maybe the O/S trip first, you maybe able to squeeze a shorter domestic break somewhere before O/S but Perth/ WA does deserve a bit more time and planning as there is lots to do there, maybe you can fit it when the Roosters play the Bears over there although Spring would probably be the best time to go with some areas of wild flowers being in bloom down in the south west corner.

We have slowly started talking about O/S again here at home but still in the back of mind is the last two trips being cancelled, the first to Covid and second due to health reasons and still with my leg playing up (even though there is slow improvement) the thought of the flight over is doing my head in. The one thing we completely agreed on was that this trip will be shorter, about 4 weeks/5 maximum compared to the almost 8 weeks we had scheduled last year, also it will be just be London/ Brighton, Scotland, Italy and finishing off in Sitges Spain, of course this will probably change again lol but that's the rough plan and it would most likely be late August early September a bit out of peak next year.

Yes you’re right. It’s best to do the overseas trips while we can and can still reasonably tolerate the long flights and being away for such a long time. I’m so glad you are at a stage where you are able to revisit and possibly reschedule your UK / Europe plans next year. We would be looking at a similar time if we go ahead. This time, London, Bath, northern Wales, Liverpool, Ireland and Belfast probably. All just dreaming and talking at this stage!

                      • Liking the look of some of the South Pacific deals coming up in my Facebook feeds at present.

Done Vanuatu previously but would love to go back. Nothing better than going off the beaten path into the villages and hearing them sing in their churches.

Don’t sleep! Fight it and go to bed early. If you sleep during the day, you won’t sleep tonight and only make it worse.

                            • I was falling asleep on the couch around 7pm. Stayed up until about 8pm. At 2am I was wide awake and have been awake since.

I got some Restavit over the counter so I'll take that tonight so I sleep through the night.

Bought some almond and cherry biscuits to bring home.

Dinner at Tiamos was fabulous again, the Rabbit casserole was superb, i said to a staff member i wish more places i wish more places would have rabbit on the menu, sampled the better half Veal also and it was so tender and yum.

Sort of glad Tiamo and Brunettis arent close to where i live as i would be the size of a house in no time.
Doing a day trip to Melbourne today. Have just been to the Brunettis on Flinders Lane. Just as impressive as the original one on Lygon St !
