I saw that online today. I experienced one in the late nineties. I’d only recently moved into my new house and it was late winter. It was about 9pm so all the curtains were closed. There was an old deck and pergola which joined the back of the house. I was on my own back then. There were two really long deep rumbles / vibrations about 30 seconds apart. It sounded like the pergola roof rattling. I thought it was thunder! I went to bed and when I woke up it was all over the news that a minor earthquake hit Canberra the previous night.

We have 2 daughters in Maroochydore, and one was working with her disabled client when it happened, she said it was extremely scary

I couldn't work out what was going on.
It's hard to believe the house could shake so much.
But I've had the grandkids and my daughter staying with me this weekend.............and the house is such a mess, toys and drawings everywhere.
          I blame the earthquake.

lol at the kids mess. By the sounds of it my little experience was nothing compared to what you experience. I’m glad we don’t live in NZ or Japan or any of those other countries where earthquakes are just a part of life,

                That's perfectly cool.
No way I could argue with that.

St George hospital is a bad place.
Routine things take forever, and a large majority of the staff are ignorant and struggle with english.

                          Well, not really.
Both my parents have been admitted . Dad is very near the end, but he is 95.
I just don't want him to be in pain at the end. It took them a week to get him on proper pain medication.
IMO they put him in the too hard basket because of his age.

                              Why thankyou MR.
All is cool, I just needed to vent about the incompetence I'm dealing with.
He had a test for a UTI and it took 8 days to yield a result...............not good enough.
There only so much you can do being so far away. I went to Sydney last year in similar circumstances, but I can't afford it at the moment.

Hope everything is going as good as they can there Eddie.
My father who will be 92 shortly has had on going problems pain wise since he has been in full time care but looks like he has been now diagonised with Psychosis , its not pretty, trying to get a few of his affairs in order but not easy at the moment and his lack of action on certain things while he was still mentally capable has meant so much extra work, Centrelink not being helpfull either but at least the sale of his house went through fairly uneventfully.
Not an easy time and it is so mentally draining on everyone close by.
