"Gas" is like all of the other nauseating Americanisms that our dumb sheeple subscribe to. My flesh crawls every time I hear "ceremony" pronounced "sarah moaney", "wait up", females called "guys", "Sorry for your loss", "swim meet", "Thank you for your service", "gas" again, "critters", "bugs", "red zone", "carry the football", "offence and defence", (with the first syllables stressed), "candy", "cookies", "movies", "go for it" etc, etc, etc.
Every semi literate mug (particularly young females it has to be said) have signed on to the dumb lexicon which, in effect, identifies us as the vassal state that we are, happy to give up our cultural independence.
What do we think about Trump's demand that we increase De-fence spending and Albo's refusal (for the time being) to do so.

English is a global language. There are more non native speakers than native speakers. Its only natural that the lexicon changes. Try listening to the Australian accent in say an old episode of Skippy. They speak in what is called received pronunciation. It sounds more English than American. An American accent from a good part of the country is much more pleasant than listening to an English accent to me.
