the split in the coalition could be huge. not sure it works out well for ley. clearly the nats wanted the split - what game are they playing?

Wishful thinking Caz but I'm sure Murdoch will be taking up the challenge.
Sussan is a deadset lightweight. Added an "s" to her name for Numerology reasons, WTF?? She's even widely regarded as a goose among the Libs.
Didn't she buy a luxury unit at a bargain price during a taxpayer funded trip and then later approve a $300K+ Government grant to the vendor. Are Aussie voters the dumbest on the planet?
Anyway they're stuffed well and truly now - the Nats don't believe in Climate change, they want out of net zero on behalf of Gina their finance source. Neither could now form government. now. What about those fcukn yokels voting in a bloke who lay dead drunk in the gutter outside a pub not too long ago.

ley probably represents the best chance for the libs to regain teal seats.
seems like the nats have somehow convinced themselves that the big loss was just the libs fault, and the defection of price made them think they hold the moral high ground but could be they want taylor and price as the libs' leadership team. ley will do well to survive the year

They're a farking rabble and get way more power than they deserve. It's for certain they'll re-join the Libs again when it means they can get cabinet roles in government (for free pretty much as they only win seats where the Libs don't contest).
Right now they're just having a sook and blaming the Libs for them being wiped out when in reality the Libs bent over backwards for them and Dutton's fallen on his sword. The Nats? They're just gonna double down and ignore the fact that they're a big part of the problem.
IMO the Libs and Nats should join as there's zero difference between them. Nats is just a name given to the far-right whackos.

You're way off Caz. This is a power play on Gina's behalf - force the Libs into going to the right on climate change. They're saying you'll never be in Government again unless you call out climate change science for the bullshit it is.

i'm not way off - ley will appeal to the teal seats in a way that dutton didn't. there's a reason all the teal members are women. it's not just about climate change.
with new senate members coming and going at the end of next month it could be that taylor and price will have the numbers to roll ley (with the support of the likes of rinehart and credlin). this would give the nats the excuse to re-join the coalition.
if they do roll ley that's not going to go down well in metropolitan australia ...

They (The Nats) say it's about nuclear but nuclear is code for anti renewables. It's about climate change denial ultimately. Their half hearted action on meaningful climate policy and their determination to expand fossil fuels tells us that. The Nats don't want to believe, there's too much money involved for them and their mistress.
I think that you misjudge the Sheeple's concern re climate issues. Weather events are making the future tangible for the masses.

Whatever, nobody wanted the job at this stage and the other bloke has too much history. Sussan is plainly in the transit lounge.
Sky reckons that they didn't go Right enough? Hopefully they'll follow that advice.

Indeed, but the sole motive of the DLP was to keep the ALP out of power. Pretty sure that the Nats want to be in power. Anyway, there's no hurry, plenty of time to wait the Nats out. 6 years at least.

the nats are only a force in regional nsw and qld but are in danger of setting the agenda for the non-labor side of politics that will make them unelectable without a charismatic leaderLast edited by caz; 05-22-2025, 07:17 PM.
