  • 2026 Jnr Rep transfers/signings

Lachlan Metcalfe has signed with the Manly Sea Eagles for 2026.

I would've guessed that Carter Mareko and Charlie Webb would be the starting halves in SG Ball this year and with Mareko and Rodwell both signing deals until the end of 2028 can see why he might have been looking for opportunities elsewhere.

Good young half with plenty of talent, will be interesting to see how he develops.

We have a very good crop of halves coming through R6 in Rodwell, Mareko and Webb.
The talent scouts, Academy and the pathways are certainly improving the quality of our squads
Where Hugo, Elliot and Foley will fit in the squad will be interesting,
Versatility in playing multiple positions will be a bonus.
I imagine we may lose a couple to other clubs

We also signed Keone Anitelea-Tsioussis (Souths H.Matts Captain).

Roosters have signed Dominic Farrugia from the Parramatta Eels. 19yo winger who will probably start off in Jersey Flegg but has huge wraps on him coming out of Parramatta's junior system.

He played on the wing in the 2025 SG Ball Grand Final against us looked good in the games I saw of him.

Manly Sea Eagles have continued their raid on our Harrold Matt's team, signing Jackson Rodwell.

This one is really disappointing for mine, kid with plenty of aggression, exceptional tackle technique and runs a good line in the second row. Plenty of potential so disappointing to see him leave.

Yeh very keen to watch Webb & Mareko combo this year in SG Ball, throw in Rex at the back and it should be a fun season.

Really surprised to see Hugo, Elliott & Foley all at pre-season training. Thought there was a good chance one would've moved on for another opportunity... maybe they still will. I imagine it's Hugo & Rodwell starting halves in NSW Cup.

Be interested to see if and when the Roosters post the Junior Rep Pathways squads for 2026 as well they often don't - Both Sydney Roosters and Central Coast Roosters.

At this stage only a few head coaches have been confirmed
                • Central Coast Roosters Andrew Johns Cup - Toby Elliott ( older Brother of Jake Elliot)
                • Central Coast Roosters Laurie Daley Cup - Ryan Southam
                • Sydney Roosters Harold Matthews Cup - Paul Momirovski
                • Central Coast Roosters Harold Matthews Cup - Ryan Sykes
                • Central Coast Roosters Lisa Fiola Cup - Jayme Fressard
                • Sydney Roosters SG Ball - Boyd Cordner and Jake Friend have been mentioned -Jake apparently with an added role - SG Ball/Jersey Flegg transition - not confirmed though
                • Central Coast Roosters SG Ball - Adam McEwan
                • Sydney Roosters Tarsha Gale Cup - Keeley Davis - Assistant Coach - Corban Baxter

The 2026 Junior Representative season commences this Saturday, January 31st with the Round One fixtures in the Andrew Johns Cup (Regional Under 16s) and the Laurie Daley Cup (Regional Under 18s). The remaining junior representative competitions kick off a week later on Saturday, 7th February.

Once again, the Central Coast Roosters will participate in the Andrew Johns Cup and Laurie Daley Cup competitions. The Roosters won both premierships in 2021 whilst the Andrew Johns Cup team added a second title in 2024.

In 2025 both teams won 3 of 5 in the regular season to fall just short of semi-final qualification.

The Roosters will again, in 2026, play in the northern pool of the competition, competing against fellow pool members the Northern Tigers (Round 2 – home), North Coast Bulldogs (Round 4 – away), Northern River Titans (Round 5 – away) and finally Newcastle-Maitland Knights (Round 6 – home). Our cross over pool match in 2026 will once again be against the Western Rams, who we will play this Saturday in in Queanbeyan. Both our teams will have a bye in Round 3.

The Central Coast 2026 squads are as follows:

                  Andrew Johns Cup

Ace Harvey, Archie Humpries, Axle Lennon, Eden Rasmussen, Finn Solway, Harrison Sherwood, Hayden Lynch (c), Inglis Ritchie, Jack Southam, Javier Cama, Jett Sherwood, Jett Watts, Joshua Marsters, Kade Townsend, Kobe Clugston, Miller Doak, Noah Jerome, Noah Rasmussen, Sunny Egan, Taj Howarth, Tayden Hay, Tyler Austin and Vailala Fekitoa.

The team will be coached by Toby Elliott, older brother of Sydney Roosters NRL squad member Jake Elliott.

                  Laurie Daley Cup

Ben Geddes-Brown (c), Archie Hall, Blessing Foini, Chase Kapua, Corbin Devaney, Eddy Sawers, Eli Bennett, Ihaka Wright, Jesse Norton, Kai Hodges, Keanu Moimoi, Kobi Bain, Kobie Flanders, Koby Houghton, Kye Northey, Marshall Michie, Riley Arrow, Ronan Hope, Sami Leqeti, Semi Leweniqila, Tadhg Close, Taj Gooley, Will Hejduk, Will McClelland and Zach Herring.

The team will be coach by Damian Hargreaves, who also coaches the Central Coast NSW Women’s Premiership team.

Ben Geddes-Brown, Blessing Foini, Chase Kapua, Corbin Devaney, Eli Bennett, Koby Houghton, Semi Lewwniqila, Tadhg Close and Will McClelland were all part of the Central Coast Roosters 2025 Harold Matthews squad who made it through to the preliminary final, whilst Keanu Moimoi was in Newcastle’s squad, who defeated the Roosters in that preliminary final.

The Round One clashes against the Western Rams on Saturday in Queanbeyan will both kick off at 1.30 pm, with the Andrew Johns Cup at Seiffet Oval and the Laurie Daley Cup nearby at David Campese Field. All Round One matches are cross over pool games, with all games played in Quenbeyan and Singleton.

Being reported that the Melbourne Storm have signed Sydney Roosters 5/8, Half Josh Durkin - Always hard to retain players when they may have a better/less constricted pathway to Play NRL elsewhere. Josh is a big unit for a half - 190 cm and 93kg's (Hugo Savala194cm and 96 kg's)

Storm swoop on young Roosters half

The Melbourne Storm have poached a young half from the Sydney Roosters after the loss of Jonah Pezet and the pending departure of Tyran Wishart to the Perth Bears.

Aiming to find long-term successors for Cameron Munster and Jahrome Hughes in the coming seasons, sources confirmed to foxsports.com.au that the club have recruited Josh Durkin from the Sydney Roosters.

The decision to sign Durkin comes after the playmaker had a strong campaign in 2025, which saw him with the Arthur Beetson Medal (Roosters’ Under-21s Best Player) and make two appearances in the NSW Cup reserve grade.

While it is understood the Roosters were keen to retain his services, he unfortunately sat behind Hugo Savala and Under-19s NSW Blues representatives Jake Elliott and Toby Rodwell.
