  • Easter Friday???

Have I heard correctly. Before moving to the Gold Coast the Easter game against the Broncos was a game I never missed. Every easter. I remember going crazy when we made a great fightback and Ricko scored under the sticks. And we scored a long range try and scored in the NE corner. I think we drew that one, I cant remember. Maybe Lockyer kicked a bloody field goal and we lost

Anyway did I hear correctly that we have lost this great game and it is now Souths that are playing it?

Yes, Souths v Canterbury brings in a large local crowd because of the Royal Easter Show. The local constabulary will have their hands full with that lot..

I used to come down to Sydney every Easter for that game, It was a great trip, id leave Brisbane early on the Thursday morning, get to Bonville golf course near Coffs Harbour by 9 am and have game of golf, stay there that night and get into Sydney about 1pm on the Friday, stay at a B and B in Queen Street Paddo and was able to spend some time with my two brothers.....great times. One time my older brother got us into a corporate box, everythng laid on , and I remember Tallis going off injured after Morley had smashed him all game, we won that night, sweeeet.

Ok so I am assuming we were originally given that game coz the show was at Moore Park. I can understand then the change, but its been at Homebush for years now. That fixture had great history. Some of our best performances against a great broncos team.

I was told last year Good Friday weekend co-incided with Anzac Day, a rareity apparently???

Then we chose the Anzac clash, so the Wankos played the Tigpies???

So now we have lost that game???

We lost it a couple of years back when Anzac day and Good Friday were only 2 - 3 days apart, we had to choose, keep good friday or keep anzac day, we get a LARGER crowd with Anzac day so it was a no brainer money wise.

It sucks that the Dogs v souffs get the game.
