  • Update on Stapo

I remember hearing Stapo's now a quadriplegic so thought I'd dig-up some updates. Anybody have an inside scoop on how he's going?

    https://www.perthnow.com.au/news/nrl...rney-c-7811198

    In summary it sounds like:

    - He was pronounced dead for 16 minutes but somehow pulled through. No brain damage.

    - Looks like he'll never walk again but he put in a fark load of work to make sure he was able to be there for his son's birth a few weeks after the accident (hospital staff said that was a massive achievement).

    - He seems pretty positive.

    - There's been a Go Fund Me and Sharks are doing a benefit for him on 7 September (tempting to attend).

Yeah shocking for the poor bugger. I can't stand A Current Affair, but they actually did a really nice story on him a couple of weeks back.

He will never ever be anywhere near the same again and I hope that the game looks after him, even though he was actually injured playing Rugby Union.

Thanks for the update on Stapo, Jizzy.....

Shocking news it was at the time and his life and family's life will never be the same.

I wish Nathan and his family the very, very, very best........I will definitely look at throwing some coin at the gofundme.

I hope the game and the players association look after him even though it was in rah-rah he suffered this tragic injury....
