Didn't DA pick Mortein for his debut, and coached him thru to the GF in 09???Originally posted by John View PostDaniel Anderson is good replacement. He's won the big one (admittedly in Superleague but a win's a win)
Admittedly he and Morts have a past but considering the fact that Kris Keating isn't playing for us, he would pick him.
I don't recall anything bad between the two, but maybe I'm wrong there.
Either way, DA wouldn't last a week with our fans, the death riding would begin when he picked his 1stlineup.
That said I have always liked him as a coach but IMO he's a mini-Smiff. He coached under him at Watsa and he's a former schoolteacher and he's led 2 sides to GFs in the NRL with only a donut to show for his efforts.
He'd get belted at this club.

I agree Roosdaman. Smith has depth at his disposal to replace non performers.Originally posted by Roosdaman View PostHope he has the balls to sack bwaith and fpn, these two just dont cut it, and theri poor performances lower the bar and frustrate the rest of the team, who i think have great potential...... dont panic
Like you, i just hope he has the balls THIS YEAR to blood the likes of Moga, Bosden, Tagive, Henry & Dumbrell. I gave Smith the benefit of the doubt last year for not dropping players due to our injuries toll however NO EXCUSES THIS YEAR. He's never going to know if he don't give them a go. Furthermore, the axed players will get a reality check playing for the Jets.

Well it's 50% this year. Last year we missed the semis by a game or two so it would've been just under 50%. Add in 2010, after all he was the coach, and we finished 6 th from memory, win/loss for more than 1/2 the season, so I'd say just over 50%.Originally posted by John View PostI read about some bad blood between them at Parra, Kris Keating was preferred as half but I think that might be scuttle.
One question, taking the Carney Dally M year out of his list, how many games has Brian Smith coached that they've won?
Without doing the math, cos I couldn't be arsed, I'd guess about 50%???
I think it was Kearney who dropped Mortein. And look how well thats worked since.
