    STORM v ROOSTERS

What was your view on Melbourne Storm’s try – was Boyd Cordner from the Roosters obstructed?

Cordner was obstructed from making a tackle, the decision should have been no-try and a penalty against the Storm.

What was your view on the decision to disallow the try to Roosters winger Sam Perrett?

This was a very tough call and the video referee searched for every angle to assist his decision. On review, the video referee got this decision wrong, it should have been benefit-of-the-doubt.

What was he going to say? No?

He doesn't want to get Smith offside as they're more than likely going to be coaching against each other next year. In England.

            This.
In the end, we got beaten by 40.
Sure you can go on about how we 'could have had the momentum leading into the second half' but we didn't turn up after the break.

I could of lived with Perret's decision.

The obstruction one went against the very letter of the rule.

A decoy runner cannot make contact, especially with the outside shoulder of the defender. That is a classic shepherd/obstruction.

Funny that they had no problem implementing this rule to the Freddy coached Roosters back in '08 where we had quite a few backline sweeps disallowed. However, most of them were a result of the defender picking the wrong option. Yeserday, the decoy got in the way of Cordner trying to move across.

The NRL is and has been a joke for a long time with their amateur officials. The standard is so low that it is embarrassing.

All well and good but what are the consequences of these errors from the officials view point? If I continue to stuff things up at work I get a tap on the shoulder and told to move along, these guys seem to get a pat on the back and a 'there, there do better next time' from Bill Harrigan.

We should put in an official complaint that we don't want to be reffed by Archer or whoever the vark was the video ref, ever again, Archer obviously has an axe to grind against us

Can't stand Saint Archer but I'd have him any day over Badger. The most incompetent ref of the last 20 years. We happened to cop both on the one day. As if the Storm needed any more leg ups.
