    Main points

    - Wrong options constantly in attack
    - Looked frantic at times, lacked composure... Smithy put it down to youthful exuberance
    - Game is way too slow, wrestling and pulling it up for injuries where we could just play on e.g Jennings going down
    - SKD & Moga have been back in full training for 8 days now so very good chance both will play next week

    Weak Spine

It was painfully obvious our spine is at the seat of our problems, all four players have weakness's in their game that are too big a hurdle to overcome, Mini, in his defence, and loose handling, Braith is mearly a linch pin, showing no creativity whatsoever, Pearce the major disappointment, I cant believe he hasen't improved after 4 or so seasons, when I see kids like Evans and Johnston, carve opposing sides up, and then witness what he does, it makes me shudder, and Jake, is a toiler, and works his butt off, but has limitations, in his speed at the ruck, and poor passing options. Sure we have a young side, but with 4 players not doing the job, in the important positions, the others might as well be peeing into the wind, because its only going to come back at ya, everytime.
Newtown got hammered as well, so maybe our so called good depth, is only a myth, and it might be a long season, if Smith doesnt try some new blood in those positions.

Evans and Johnston are not carving up first grade sides.

Moga v Test and Origin player Jennings...Moga loses bigtime.

Pearce tried to run yesterday, but got smashed by the Panthers' Cleary/Gould defence.

How come Cleary and Gould are coaching the Panthers and not the Roosters?

        Not sorry..."Youthful exuberance" doesn't wash.

Game was even slower as the Panthers players were allowed to hold our players down all game while their defence got set.
Wrestling allowed...holding down allowed, stoppages for injured players-Jennings [couldn't play on, little darlings Panthers in their pink jerseys might be disadvantaged?]

        New Commission?

Same deal last week against Souths.
Our players even look like holding opposition players down they get penalised.

6 all the penalties yesterday doesn't paint a true picture.

Where is Thirteen? He needs to tell Smith "no more excuses"

I can cop us losing. I can't cop us putting an inept performance in where we did not ever look like threatening the opposition. The coach needs to shoulder the blame because this team lacks structure. FOrget youthful exuberance. Our 20's play with some style in attack.

I would like to know what miracle cure they gave Jennings ?
When he went down hte game stopped while he looked like they were going to call for a stretcher as he was in a lot of pain and the trainers were showing a lot of concern. But gingerly go to his feet (his teammates were sufficiently rested) and within the next minute, he's running 50 mtrs to score a try.

Whatever they gave him, can we get some to SKD and Moga and have them playing next weekend !

              The coach is an idiot.

He wanted the game to be faster? Has he lost the plot? We've got zero pace in our backline, it's the slowest backline I can ever remember us fielding yet our clown of a coach wanted the game to be sped up. If the game was any faster, we would have copped 30 on us instead of 18.

Jennings could have beat Mini for pace while he was on crutches. Where was our winger in attempting a chance

Smith was talking about the wrestle in the press confrence, how penrith put alot of wrestle in the game.

I am starting to get sick of this, across the game, this is not the WWE.

But in saying that, it is wide spread and ingrained in the game now, the refs have no idea what is what around the ruck and their calls are inconsistent. With the storm in the forefront of new moves and the like..... why can't the Roosters be the forefront of beating the wrestle ?

This probably sounds more like WWE, but why not become a forerunner in using the wrestle against the defence?Put the defence in a position where it takes them longer to get up, put them on their back, turn the tables, effectivly take out a marker Legally.

                  less talk more action !

I would hope he was trying to chime onto the ball which would have come his way had Minis pass gone to the hands instead of the ground If you meant the winger from the far side then It would have had to be Usain Bolt to catch Jennings from where he was

Our winger was in line with Mini and then just stopped. Mini was smashed but somehow managed a chase

Because as soon as we do anything like that the refs will penalise us.
We're not one of the darling teams, obviously.

The Storm has a "wrestling coach"?

I won't accept that as an excuse either! It was the 'youthful exuberance' who got us into the grand final and a win last week. It's the senior players who took some wrong options yesterday from what I saw..

We just haven't learned how to score tries!!!!

I dunno how many repeat sets of 6 we got within their 20, but we should have scored at least once!!! We had LOTS of penalties going our way and LOTS of opportunities. We just failed to put ANY farking points on the board!!!

I only listened to the radio but as with last week, we didn't have enough completions to score tries. 6 Tackles within 10m... IMO even the most conservative tactics SHOULD get you a try. Run the big guys up the centre HARD and STRAIGHT 5 times then do a little grubber and you SHOULD either score, tackle them in goal or force a dropout EVERY TIME.

What I kept hearing was "third tackle 10m out and the roosters should score here. _____ runs it, OOOOOH AND HE'S LOST IT!!!! JENNINGS DIVES ON IT AND THE PANTHERS ARE OUT OF TROUBLE BECAUSE HE JUST RAN 30M!!!!!! THE ROOSTERS REALLY BLEW THAT OPPORTUNITY!!!!"

                            ---

Grumble grumble as well... League's $hit how you can't lose the ball backwards (although you really can in many situations?!?!?) I reckon only knock-ons should be turnovers. (More because we're good at losing it backwards, but also "losing it backwards" has too much ambiguity about it as it's often deemed to be a pass or they are not deemed to have "lost it".)
