The problem is this NO STRIKE POWER

seriuosly, did you watch the Storm tonight??? they have a 7 and a 9 and a 1 and two centres that are class. We have a 7 who would be the 5th best half in nsw at best, a 6 that is really a 13 or 12, and a coach who hasnt won a thing since 1978. Brian Smith leaves Mortimer who played reasonably well last week out of todays game..please........

we need SKD back and Moga (that everyone is get excited about - who is unproven in the big time yet - but worth a go)

Our strike power was Carney, he has left the building now.

The forwards half of them you wouldnt feed. FPN, kennedy (more mistakes in him than Pat Jarvis).

Lay off Mini. He is not the problem!

He threw a dumb pass that led to a Panther's try.

Other than that he tried hard and played quite well.
Me, I'd keep him next year, and thereafter on a year to year basis...but he might have to take a pay cut, it usually always comes down to money.

      Slaters and Fittlers are rare.
If our team had any semblance of structrure about its play and any planned moves, Mini might just make more line breaks.

Mini scored the try that won the game last week, ...Pearce, Maubs' good run, Cordner's good kick, then Mini running after the ball like a flash.

2GB's commentators were praising Mini during the match and were asking why he hadn't put pen to paper.

What are peoples ideas on playing Mini on the wing next year?

I think his first two games this season have shown he still has some ability to perform in first grade, howbeit we cant affort to have him playing at fullback next season (I think everyone one agrees on this). But I would hate to see him pushed out of the club especially if it meant him signing with another NRL club.

So can anyone see him playing on the wing next year and performing? There is no doubt he has a good footballing brain, has a safe pair of hands and is good under the high ball...he would also be able to mentor whoever plays fullback next years.

        Thoughts?

Seriously who would sign him??? I can't think of a slower FB in the whole comp.

He has terrible hands from the pass, is slow, can't tackle and has zero ball skills.

The only advantages is he's good under the high ball often, and we don't get the ball to our wingers in space so we would see less of him.

He's never had a footy brain. He was always a fast and hard running player. Now he has no speed he really has no place on the wing or at FB. He was a disaster when Freddo ran him at 5/8.

Contracts should be earnt not given cos we don't want to see someone change clubs. No other club would even be tempted to buy him IMHO.

          That's my thoughts.

          You know it makes sense.

if we are gonig to blow smoke up some ones a$$ i think i am now off the ground and back on the fence with carney. if he was taller by a foot(or scaled up 10%) his ball returns were flamin awsome yesterday and would bust alot of tackles..his hieght may come in usefull for drawing in head high tackles. not affraid of the hard hits. lets see if he can be consistant at newtown

Mini's last man defense was relentlessly horrible. You know when its a one on one with Mini the other team are going to score. He was the worst player on the field.

                Mini is finished boy
                12 years is enough
12 years ago how fast and big were they ?
..and how are they now ?
he cant crack the line he is too slow when he gets through time for a replacement he has had his time in the sun.
he shouldve bowed out at the end of 2012 with dignity.
no one hates him its just time to move on

There is no way he was the worst . He made mistakes but at least he had a go and was backing up all day. Mini has always been a turnstile when the last line of defence. Even in his hey day his defence was terrible. I love the guy but the modern day fullback is like another 5/8. And mini ain't no playmaker. The problem is, he is the best we have at the moment. This should be his last year.

Just like the Telegraph, 2GB hate the Roosters and these questions are asked to stir the pot.

Justin the human wrecking ball Carney should be FB. Mini has been a top class FB his game suited 2002 2003 2004 2005 but in todays game Mini offers zilch. Dont even entertain the idea of Mini on the wing.

                      SKD is needed something bad.

I have never understood people calling for him to play on the Wing next season.. Let's face facts, he does not have the tackle breaking strength or blinding pace he once had. I don't see why Tagive doesn't get a go.. Is it because he is tall and fast? Something that is frowned upon it seems.. As to Carney to FB, well I will just leave that for someone else to carve up.

Have you seen him under the high ball? He struggles a bit there. how about creativity? These days a fullback is like a second playmaker. I have never seen him pass the ball, i have never seen him kick the ball (apart from a kick off that barely went 30 metres). I would like to know what fullback qualities you have seen.
