Blake is apparently looking for a NRL gig. Any thoughts on bringing him back on the cheap. Apart from Toops we don't have a winger that can give us some good returns and starts to our sets. I know unlikely to happen but just a thought

Yeah...Originally posted by Dr. Voodoo Man View PostHe does not pass the character test at this point. I was a fan but hell no.
1. Not needed with Toops, Manu, Momirovski, Suaalii, Naiqama and Karawalevu already on our books.
2. Previously there was a redemption story in that (IMO) he'd mucked around as a stupid kid and been treated quite harshly, having been put through the courts for pinching a girl's bum (after she's been pashing him all night...etc). I thought he'd learned his lesson, gotten his life on track and found a simple, but effective way of using his physical/athletic traits to cause a fark load of havoc. Then... Japanese rugby opens up the chequebook and throws $1.5m at him and his wife/kids (they are still together BTW - reports they broke up were absolute bull). Rather than saying 'faaark I am on the gravy train now... just gotta train, keep a low profile [not hard in Japan] and I'll pocket $$$ no matter what!' Nup. On one of his first nights out he goes straight to the red light district, buys coke (ANYBODY in Japan can tell you how stupid that is) and punches a guy in a restaurant while holding the said coke. After spending a month locked up he then plays the victim and publicly criticises the conditions within Japanese prisons. Not saying they're the most humane, A+++ human rights prisons, but prison's supposed to be shyte!!! If you don't wanna go there then farking behave while overseas!!!
I know I rant a lot but I have an abducted daughter in Japan so his behaviour really p!sses me off! When I go there to visit my daughter... to VISIT my farking daughter, the step dad calls the cops and they'll be watching us the whole time as if I'm some sorta criminal (whereas he's the farking criminal who asked my ex to bash me, hope I fought back & cook-up a story about me being violent so that they could run off to Japan together). I've put a lot of work into proving to the Japanese that I'm not a liability and that foreigners are good people. Then this @rse comes along and all the locals are saying now is 'ooooh an Australian dad... does he use cocaine?!? Does he punch people in restaurants... you hear about that Aussie who got arrested? They are all the same!' Seriously, fark you Fergo! I couldn't even enter the country to see my daughter due to COVID. You're given special entry permission and you do this!!! No way I'd take him back at our club... particularly when we have such high quality outside backs competing for spots at the moment! I hope Latrell gets a chance to break his face back into its original shape... maybe that will straighten him out.

I am sorry to hear of your troubles. I get the feeling that footballers don’t often understand the privilege their “job” allows them.Originally posted by ism22 View Post

Honestly, since the passing of Johnny Tobin I have no desire to argue with any Roosters anymore. I agree with some of your points. My family is half Japanese too so I completely understand how poor his actions in Japan were. Fergo was one of my favorite players at one point. Once he was released on bail pending his court appearance I was genuinely shocked that he was dumb enough to do an interview and talk about finding a new contract. It was very ill advised I imagine. The bloke is just a dummy at the end of the day.Originally posted by ism22 View Post

Pass. Unfortunately, he's too much of a liability now both on the field and off. We're trying to create a good culture, reputation, brand etc within the club and he'll always be a part of our club's history (2018 Grand Final Winner) but we need to move on and I think we've got enough depth cover in the backs now.
PS: Don't be surprised if Parra or Souffs throw him a lifeline.

I’d take you back Blake but the best person to speak with would be Robbo.Originally posted by Novo rooster View PostBlake is apparently looking for a NRL gig. Good luck.
