Yeah still not sure why people even include Smith.Yes he's supposedly good (who knows he never gets on the park) but you certainly can't rely on him or consider him being in the team with his record. If he plays cool, but considering he's Quentin Keenihan it's more than likely that he's a 5 game player a year so we need to chase an outside back that we can bank on being a regular starter.Originally posted by FlamingRooster View Post

because hes a quality player. there are many players who come to mind who have injury history, (tom trbojevic for example). further we already have young good bckup in mgt and vk.Originally posted by TumutChook View Post

He’s played like 5 games in 3 seasons though is the point. I have no issue with his talent or potential but when people talk about our 2022 outside backs I’m subconsciously not even thinking about him and for my mind we’ve essentially got Tupou and Manu that are starting first grade calibre: keighran and ikuvalu aren’t it, Smith is perennially injured and Suaali for all the talent he has is still barely older than 18 and we’ve seen it with Latrell and Manu that it’s tough at this age and he’s going to go through the ups and downs.Originally posted by FlamingRooster View Post

Going in to next season our backline is in trouble unless we can make a key signing which looks unlikely and the forward pack is lacking a bit too with high profile losses that haven’t/can’t be replaced.

I'll say watson will end up being our hooker! An ozzy version of brandon smith! Brakes more tackles than verills an added kicking game from hooker that verills lacks!
verills will be the change of pass hooker how he was to friend!
Vk will be out billy smith an suallii back up!
Keary will increase walkers potential of stardom
We win 2022

Two months ago it was reported that Uncle Nick and Anderson had contacted Cheese's manager.
It gives me the impression that we are after at least one star.
I hope we get a decent forward and a centre.
One of Smith/Sims/Tapine will do. Just can't see it being Smith for the money he might be after.
Not sure of any decent centre who is available.
Our depth was tested this year and we lose experience in Cordner, Friend, Liu, Bmoz and Jmoz.
I think the current squad is capable of winning the comp but as in 2013 if we top it up with a couple of quality experienced players and hoping the injury cloud has drifted over to the Redfern area then we should be in the box seat.
Round 1 seems so far away.

i dont think sualii will start the season. i reckon itll be iku or keighran starting the first games, possibly for a while unless js tearing it down for the bears, until hes nearing 19. itll be similar to what robbo did with walker at the backend of the season, he doesnt want to risk injury. as for smith, hes just luckless but hell be starting and if he stays healthy, a solid centre until vk can take over on the wing. keighran gets way too much hate on this forum, hes a bit weak defensively and honestly if it were me his main position should be 5/8 or hooker (i preferred him over verrills), where his attacking prowess and first class kicking can take form. as for iku, despite what the grub in cyril says, hes a first grader in most clubs. his finishing is among the best and yes hes prone to an error but he is more than handy player.Originally posted by SamKerrSimp View Post
