  • The Benchmark!

This has been a tough year, with our injury list the longest (and most experienced) I've ever seen for any club.
Yet, we are currently in 4th place and the boys have given it their all this season.
In the years to come Robbo will point to this season and tell his players 'this is what it means to be a Roosters player'. 'To have injury upon injury, yet stand up and play footy for the jersey!'
    Easts to win!

The bright side through all of these injuries and having to play with mostly juniors, is just that. A lot of these juniors would never have had a chance to play and be exposed of the rigours of playing at this NRL level and when next season rolls along, we will have 30 players toughened up and ready to step up and we won’t be the only ones to benefit cause North’s will have players with NRL experience in their side and they will be playing against rookies. Our success will be North’s success which will flow back to us.

Every season I look forward to seeing if we sign a new talent from somewhere else, but this year and for the next few seasons I think we will be right. This year is bleak but the future looks better than bright.

Whenever I think about how proud I am of this team and that they are still fighting for 4th spot, I can't help but remember what Coops said after BMoz went down

"they are the Roosters that club won't stop fighting until there's no one left standing"

I think we'll be close but not quite there yet.

The future is bright for a lot of clubs - Penrith will become the new dominant team over the next decade along with us, souths, brisbane and a few others.

2 years might be too soon.

I actually feel nervous that the young guys who have stood up and filled in have now been seen by lesser clubs and maybe poached or If there is a new team being formed.
but yes i am looking forward the our next 2 to 3 years.

                  What a year!
I loved listening to people say 'the Roosters just keep winning', even though most had written us off because of injuries.
For once everyone could see what we all know - that we are a strong club with a winning mentality.
Most people like to say its all Uncle Nick, or its the sombrero.
Well actually its the club, our attitude, players and staff, we are winners!
