  • Hutch Appreciation Post

I never thought I would say this but I am glad he is tn the team. He has become a solid player. A calming influence. He’s a 40 year old head on a 26 year old body.

An able replacement next season if Keary or Walker are unavailable.

I am pleased he’s getting a new deal. Well deserved.

I do wonder where that leaves Lam as the backup. Hutch is obviously ahead of him.

Has he actually signed on again? I know the Bunnies were chasing him as well.

I agree with your thoughts though. He's a steady player who provides excellent depth and does his job with a minimum of fuss

Very solid player in the like of Bears great, Greg Florimo. 'the Hutch comes through in the clutch'. Anyone guess the ripoff of this quote?

in his recent interview he said that he hadn't yet signed but it was as good as done.
he was great last night. our second try was on the back of his vision and boldness. with teddy and joey looking for the ball, hutch doesn't have to be too dominating

He seems to have time when he does stuff, its like he's slow when he's on the attack but the opposition seem to be slow to get to him.
He's the guy structurally leading the team at the moment & doing not a bad job considering that he's got a rookie number 7 who is starting to be a bit of a one trick pony.
Shouldnt say that Sams doing alright.

well good to see you have changed your mind of Hutch since I made that thread a few months ago about ‘When is Hutch back’.

What I have seen in the last few games he has returned is that IMO he is playing better than before he got injured. In some ways he is learning from Walkers cavalier attitude and Hutch is now backing himself. That step that created Sitilis 1st try was very much what Walker would do. Only problem Hutch has is that he looks heavy when he runs.

Next season if we can keep our halves fit, Hutch will probably slot in the utility role if he can continue to improve.

Can’t have superstars on the bench so he’s a very solid and handy back up.

He has changed - not me.

He is heavy. Big for a half. But that helps in defence.

A good back up at best but Adam Keighran has proven to be better in defence for being much quicker at covering more ground ! Kicks goals

Love the Hutch. Big boof he is.

Lam is looking better too off the bench and without being expected to be a playmaker.

I've really liked him for a while now, and hope we re-sign him. I feel much more confident about our defense when he is in the side, as opposed to another of our smaller halves. He kicks pretty well on the 5th tackle for the most part, and plays nice structure. He's actually a really great foil for Walker. Just about the perfect player to play with him.

He also puts in and seems to really care about the result. His reaction when he gave away (somewhat unluckily) a 7-tackle set was good to see.

If he Hutch plays well we generally win, he’s a big influence on the team atm. After Teddy, Radley and JWH his influence is the most important. He’s making it so Walker can play his natural game and unlock our backs.

Like i've previously stated Snap, as diehard RWB fans lets give our verdict and open minded opinion when Keighran also gets a shot at playing his favoured position - five eight!
Oh, Adam kicks goals too..........go figure!

Very solid in defence. Our left side rarely leaks.

                            Great foil for Walker.
