Just had a look at the NRL injury list. Surely Penrith's luck has got to change - they have one player out injured and he's due back this week.

It makes a big difference to a team's fluency if they're playing with the same squad week after week. The fact that the Roosters have lost a third of their team (mainly SOO level players) and are still winning is pretty impressive. We have had 4 or the 10 season ending injuries across all clubs.

To be fair they had Api and Edwards out for some time. If anything happens to Cleary they are screwed

Penrith's amazing run with injuries these past 18 months is more responsible than anything for their success. Alas they played a full strength Storm team in the GF who everyone could see were better and would win.

It's like when the Cowboys won the comp in 2015. They finished 4th that year and were a very good, but not great side. They did however name the same 17 players almost every week. I remember Vossy saying they broke the all time record of number of weeks naming the same 17.

The same happened to Penrith in 2003. Their spine played every minute of every game and lo and behold they caught fire to win a comp.

If you're a very talented team and you have that kind of luck with injuries, then you'd be embarrassed to not have a great season.

Look at our full strength 20 players. Good Lord, if they were fit almost every week in this weak ass comp with the quick ruck speed we'd finish the year with a differential of +500. The only difference compared to Penrith is that we wouldn't choke in the biggest game of all.

What is it, 29 or so wins from 30 games? Amazing. But how embarrassing that the only loss was a meek flogging in the GF. If they choke similarly in 2021 then they'll become a laughing stock. Cleary will be praying he doesn't come up against Bellamy again who out coaches him all day, every day with a squad of equal quality.

If they lost the GF this year I'd pay a lot of money to be able to follow Luai around for an hour after the game ringing a bell and yelling out Shame....Shame.....Shame.....Shame.

Luck's a funny thing. It might decide to turn for them the week before the GF. If it doesn't, they should win the comp in a canter.

I kinda hope they do, just so we can move on. How was that interview with Gus and McLandys? The fool at one stage couldn't stop stuttering the word Penrith. We can see where they want the trophy to head.

Hurry up already. The amount of pressure on the blue mts brigade to win so far out is enormous. And they've already had a crack. As stated, if they don't do it this year, they'll be souff esque 12' and 13'.

I’d have my money on a Full strength Storm.

Yes. All of their injuries are short term too. They have a core of experienced GF winners. Pemrif, for all their hype, are a bunch of nervous virgins come semi time.

                    Same.

I still think that the two best players on either side are Munster & Harry Grant.

And I won't think otherwise until Cleary performs on the big stage.

But that Brandon Smith/Harry Grant combo is an absolute killer so at full strength I'd back the Storm.

IMO Grant's heavily over-rated... he's like that catch-phrase player who the NRL so badly want to be amazing due to that 'swap' deal they approved.

I think the bigger deal is that Melbourne can not only afford two rep-grade hookers (3 last year), none of them are injured. Thus, they can use the good old double punch of Smith/Grant. Remembering... they've only won 1 more game than us, which in my books was a BS loss to Parra under absolute BS conditions on our behalf (Drizz never have those games, which inflates their place on the ladder every season).

Sigh. It frustrates that we can't field a full-strength team and teach these fukking amateurs a lesson. Friend was the guy who won Origin for QLD, not Grant. Wish we could prove it and shut up the farking Harry Grant bandwagon of shills and commentators.

Just have to make do with a 1/2 strength team... which is still a 50:50 chance of beating them.
                        - Munster's the best? Fark off, Walker's got him covered! (And as usual, nobody's ever heard of the Drizz' second half... is it Hughes? Ryley Jacks? [checks] Literally never heard of Lewis... bet he's a flog who'll cash-in as a $$$ nobody next season.
                        - Grant's the best? Fark off, he's just a quick kid like Verrills. Same same. He's just a fukking smart@rse who runs through big holes after 1/2 tome once the refs have made the opposition do 100+ more tackles and lotsa tired forwards are blowing hard.
                        - Shyssenhoossen is the best? Fark off, he's 1/2 the player Teddy is.

I predict we'll beat the Drizz next time around... this isn't a 2 horse race between them and the Riff. Our current playing group's gaining momentum and experience.

The list of injuries above makes for some sobering reading.

It should not include suspensions, which are a team's own fault.

Penrith are lucky, but they had a bad injury run several years ago from memory. Luck - what goes around comes around.

We need to hang tough - we will get through it eventually.
                          MRR or Rabid

Some people believe supporting the Roosters
is a matter of life and death, I am very disappointed
with that attitude. I can assure you it is
much, much more important than that.

Harry Grant over rated . Surely your kidding . Most would rate him as one off or maybe close to the best now or in the future hookers in the game

i still think there are 3 favourites. before latrell got suspended souths looked alright and bennett will get them firing at the right time.

atm we're on the next rung, hanging tough, enjoying the journey, playing one game at a time, still with a foot in the door ...
