The 5yr extension was the wet dream but we'll happily take the 2yr extension for now.

It'll give the club anple preparation time to find the funds to make Walker a 1m per year player.

Also I think the expansion club is planned for 2023? This extension avoids that inevitable poaching spree of star players.

2 years is great but also a little nerve wracking for fans. I've no doubt we have a 'plan' to lock him up long term within that timeframe though. Can build a team around this cat.

i was hoping for 5 but this guy is special and it's a relief that we've got him for another two. no doubt he could have got more elsewhere but he's still a teenager so 500k a year isn't unfair. keary and teddy are contracted until 2024 so we'll need to back end his next contract.
you'd figure the sky's the limit for walker and with keary, teddy and him until at least 2023 we're lookin good

This is great news. Sam is the future of our club. I’m sure late next year they may be in a better position to lock him in for longer. $1m over 2 years. That’s massive for an 18 year old who’s only played 6 games. The future is bright.

Happy with 2 years , sometimes longer contracts can be a detriment for the player , no doubt Sam is the future if he keeps going the way he is going but sometimes things don't go to plan
