  • Possible team this week?

It'll be announced soon I guess but I'm bored and it's lunchtime so meh. Time to lick those wounds and look at who's available...

    1. Teddy (returning - bet any other club woulda used him last week)
    2. Tupou
    3. J-Moz
    4. Manu
    5. Iku (fine only, so availble)
    6. Hutcho
    7. Skywalker
    8. Liu (could be JWH but I feel we're using him as a power sub)
    9. Verrills
    10. SST
    11. Crichton
    12. Butch
    13. Radley

    14. Marshke
    15. JWH
    16. Baker
    17. Fifita?

    18. Suaalii

    ---

Double-checking Easts' website for our team, it's worrying that our 30's becoming quite thin!!! How close are we to having 12 players unavailable? (i.e. potentially only being able to select who's available). With the 18th man rule this could be quite worrying if we're in a position where we can't name 18 players. Don't wanna freak out or anything, but I hope the NRL's watching this closely.

Out of 30 we have 10 players unavailable this week (through injuries + 1 suspension)...
    - Friend (he's still listed on our website)
    - Keary
    - B-Moz
    - Collins
    - Keighran
    - Cords
    - Sitili
    - Lussick
    - Lam
    - Smith

So basically... Baby Butcher, Fifita and Suaalii are the only 3 people who won't play. Out of interest, do we forfeit if we can't name 21 players on Tuesday? Coz I dunno if we can! (Does this force us to name people who are injured/suspended just to tick the box?)

I’m sure you can still name Lam knowing he won’t be playing.

with lindsay going down baker and dsf have chances to make a bench spot their own.
suaalii won't be 18th man again. we'll want him to get some game time

Parra are an interesting team to come up against - have gone well but still not convinced. Best game was against the storm, the rest were crap opposition (including raiders) and they lost to the dragons. Definitely in the pretenders category for me.

Tough game for us but still think we can get them with who we’ve still got - they are a class below panthers, storm, Souths

Yes, but you have to have choice. If you've only got 18 fit players in your squad, then so be it.

I thought Keighran returned last week for the Bears? He may be an option at 14 in place of Marschke as he provides a bit more flexibility.

If only 17 players a volunteer from the Chookpen will be required to be 18th man

Salvo can assist Trent with game plans.
Ism’s mixed netball will become handy and he can be the utility on the bench.

                      - Lussick
                      - Lam
                      - Smith

Squad is 29 players all up so one spot remaining to be filled for the 30 player squad - 9 unavailable ( Keary/B Morris/Collins/Friend /Lussick/Cords/Sitili/Smith/Verrills)- 1 retirement and 3 season ending injuries

Meaning the squad will be 25 if all fit for selection or 26 if a 30th Player is signed. -Lussick ( Rnd 11 -13) Cords (Rnd 14 ) Sitili (Rnd 10) Smith (Mid Season) Verrills (TBC)

Currently there are only 20 NRL squad Players available for selection with 9 out- Tuku Hau Tapuha wasn't selected in the 21 - So 19 of the 20 NLR players were selected along with Benny Marschke and Naufhu Whyte (Development player ) for the 21 player squad.

Teams have to name 21 players and will be given dispensations to be able to name 21 players as the Chooks have been from an extended squad - can't select players who are known to be injured and unavailable and or who are suspended

If it gets worse as far as injuries are concerned they will have to pick more players from the extended squad and development player list- or seek volunteers from the Chook Pen

                      Extended squad
                      • Brad Abbey (FB/GK)
                      • Max Bailey (LK PR)
                      • Ben Marschke (HK)
                      • Jesse Marschke ( 1/2 FE HK)
                      • Tony Satini (CE WG)

                      Development Players
                      • Lani Graham -Taufa ( CE )
                      • Moala Graham -Taufa (WG FB)
                      • Naufahu Whyte (SR )

Unbelievable, isn't it? I could not believe my ears. Bloody hell! ism, good job - you got close so far; unlikely to change much.

Some people believe supporting the Roosters
is a matter of life and death, I am very disappointed
with that attitude. I can assure you it is
much, much more important than that.
