I don't hate Pearce but I was happy he was replaced by Cronk. Pearce is not a player that matures like good wine like Cooper, Cam Smith or JT. He still has his party ways and I don't blame him for that because not everyone can have the discipline to be like Cronk & Smith. From what I saw how Pearce played with the Knights, he is on the decline and he won't improve or pass on words of wisdom to a younger player like walker. I think his best option now is to take any money from the ESL and then retire.

I don't know if he's worth a million a year but he sits in that group behind the best halves in the game so he's going to command good coin wherever he goes, largely because there is such a void in talent in the halves right across the game.Originally posted by Johnny Brass View Post
Do you think he's going to be worth a million a year in a years time ?
I think he's been paid above market value for what he has delivered for a lot of his career and if he hasn't set himself up by now he never will.
The last couple of years of his career you would think he would be looking to win a comp like the Morris boys did not scrounge out for the highest dollar.
Again just don't think it's anyone's place to judge a player for not taking a pay cut to play for a premiership in their final years, to each their own. Personally I'd never begrudge a player making as much money out of the game as they possibly can. Life is tough and you never know what's going to come your way..

Funny you mention this yeah we had them stretched as Moa I think should have scored but was stopped by the goal post, but that whole was created by SBW who ran a line which attracted the defenders attention In fairness Pearce still threw the money ball to GuerraOriginally posted by Rooster_6 View Post
What a poor summation of the 2013 Grand Final.
And from a Roosters fan no less.
Sam Moa an absolute beast in that second half, Jimmy with a hand in 2 of the 3 comeback tries & excellent goalkicking to keep the difference more than a converted try, SKD's courgae with a broken jaw, some of Friendy's clean up work around the ruck late in the game, Pearce & Guerra's link up for the start of the come back.
I respect all our moderators here. Past present and even future. Always have done and always will do a wonderful job.

The hole wasn't created by SBW, it was just a scattered defensive line after a Manly knock on and Moa nearly scoring.Originally posted by Andrew Walker View Post

The Mole is reporting this today!!
The Mole: Mitchell Pearce return to Sydney Roosters gradually falling into place
The dominoes are slowly but surely falling into place for Mitchell Pearce to make a return to the Sydney Roosters in 2021.
Pearce played 11 seasons and more than 200 games at the Roosters before moving to the Knights in 2018. Forced out by Cooper Cronk's signing, the 31-year-old appeared destined to finish his career in Newcastle.
But Kyle Flanagan's indifferent year at the Roosters, coupled with the Knights' poor finish to the season, started the ball rolling for a shock game of halfback musical chairs.
The Roosters told Flanagan that he was free to leave and he has joined Canterbury.
In the meantime, the Knights have been linked with both English ace Gareth Widdop and Eels playmaker Mitchell Moses.
Add to that the possibility of Pearce being asked to take a pay cut at the Knights and the fact he misses his family in Sydney, and it's just a question of whether the Roosters can negotiate a release and still stay under the salary cap.
Stay tuned for further developments.

Rumour is that it's not a rumour about Pearce coming back - Apparently it all depends on how much of his 2021 salary the Knights are prepared to pay as well as Knights wanting some Chook players in exchange as well.Originally posted by Davo View PostThe Mole is reporting this today!!

I also heard a rumour that we’ve offered Widdop a 2 year deal.
