Just want to tip my hat to Flanno who stepped into big shoes and performed well. He will be awesome next year.

We need to speed up Walker’s development. Our halves were average late in the season. They couldn’t get us over the line in all the close games. We also need to go to the market for a quality front rower. Our stocks are quite low.Originally posted by The distributor View PostJust want to tip my hat to Flanno who stepped into big shoes and performed well. Are u sure u are not related to Ricky Stuart Tommy? U are always coming up with excuses, either blaming refs or blaming injuries. Have u ever questioned maybe the depth of talent or maybe lack of desire compared to other clubs. I don't buy this injuries excuse...all teams get injuries, it's part of the game and much more frequent this yr due to the extra speeding up of the game.Originally posted by Tommy Smith View PostHe had the most injured squad. And the most injured squad hasn't won a comp in 112 years.
If we had Penrith's run of luck this year we win the 3peat. No doubt.
Alas sometimes it just isn't meant to be. Having the best squad is only the start. So much more needs to go right.
3 comps in 8 years though. Some fans follow teams that have barely if at all even made the finals in that time frame.
How lucky are we?
The Raiders lost a key spine player in Josh Hogdson, Souffs lost a key spine player in Latrel.....yet both teams are in the final top 4. Storm were missing their best attacking player in Munster in many games too (like both our games) yet they seemed to cope. As for Penrith, missing Brian To'o for 7 or 8 games. And surely the panthers were due some luck, they have been the most injury prone club over the last 10 yrs. Good luck to them.
Maybe our depth is not as good as some seem to think. Panthers, Raiders, storm etc, seem to have better depth.

Totally agree mun...both JWH and SST seemed to be tired and busted for carrying the load for too long. Then we have Collins who is still developing but other than that there is not much.Originally posted by Roosterfarian View Post

No wonder Raiders busted up our middle...we were down to one established prop during the 2nd half.
Farmasilly has played like 30 games but i can hardly recall anything special. Butcher is a joke as prop. Max Bailey is scrapping the bottom of the barrel.

defence was the reason for the loses not the attack as the Chooks scored the most points during the regular season - the vermin game seemed to zap many a players confidence - conceding 60, 28 and 16 unanswered points was as they say not chook like - with the 6 again and other proposed changes the game will be faster with the ball in play longer so defences will be really tested - it wont be the case of the best defensive sides winning games/comps it will the best attacking sides i.e scoring as many points as tbey can with a run of possession and momentum.Originally posted by Roosterfarian View Post

The NRL are wanting high scoring games like they have been in the finals each round all season long including in finals matches. coaches will have to prepare players and teams differently in pre-season and during the season to cope with a faster game-players will need to be fitter and more agileLast edited by King Salvo; 10-11-2020, 12:11 AM.

Max Bailey is worth a chance as he was in the Canterbury Cup team of the year in 2019- a big pre-season and put on a bit of bulk- mmm i remember the Chooks signing another Canterbury Cup team of the year player who become a permanent member of the 2013 Chooks NRL team - that player Daniel Tupou- Tupou was cut by Parramatta after playing 2 years of under 20's (2010/2011)- too tall and awkward to be an NRL player i think he was told by Parra- might have thought he was another Phil MannOriginally posted by Rocky Rhodes View Post

JWH is absolutely carrying injury. Too early to tell if he is past peak.Originally posted by Rocky Rhodes View Post

SST apeared to be carrying something too prior to fking his knee up.
Collins is coming along very nicely.
Farmersilly and Fifita have shown glimpses, but its just that....glimpses. Only Robbo and co know for sure how much upside they have.
Butcher is a good defensive lock, but not a meter eater or a prop.
Bailey has hands for feet and is currently out of his depth in 1st grade. Maybe in future, not now.

Name me one premiership winning team in the salary cap era that has played the finals series with half their forward pack missing? Let alone in a year where they had already lost two of the best players in the competition (Mitchell and Cronk).Originally posted by Rocky Rhodes View Post

You need luck with injuries and suspensions to win a premiership.
To'o lol. Panthers absolutely sh1tting themselves at missing Kikau for one game.Last edited by dice; 10-11-2020, 01:33 AM.

Can't he play a few games for the women just to get some experience? Then I'd watch.Originally posted by Roosterfarian View Post
