I've been a big fan of Butcher since his younger days - great leader, solid middle forward, great work ethic, great defender in the middle. Reminds me a little bit of Dallas Johnson, but not quite so much of a tackle bot.

Now, this has been a bit evident for a while now, but I have a feeling the guy is going to end up cursed by his size.

IMO he isn't big/solid enough to do anymore than a 'good job' in 1st grade at lock. He doesn't have the great offload/barnstorming edge running you want from an 11 or 12. He is too cumbersome and lacks the ball playing for Hooker. He sure as hell aint a back.

I think he has the potential to be a very good first grader as long as the pack is balanced and he develops into a good leader amongst the squad.

Hoping to be proven wrong, but i'm not convinced his ceiling is very high unless he gets some mongrel & packs on some size.

Hasn't quite come on as most of us expected.

No doubt he's been disappointing this season. I was hoping he would really step it up with the injury to Radley but he hasn't really offered a lot. Having said that, I would read very little in to last nights effort as he was being played out of position all night. I have a feeling he may have ended upm in the centres after the Keary injury.

I think his size is an issue because he doesn't play like Victor. I was hoping he would be a ready-made replacement.

Throw Isaac Liu in with him, Aidan Tolman 2.0 nothing but a big soft pillow this season, he needed to step up, failed big time, SST has been carrying us for weeks now, demote Butcher bring DSF into the starting lineup has more go in his 2-3 games then Butcher has in 2-3 years, problem is he doesn’t have the motor to last big minutes, still can’t be any worse, throw him in against the Tigers and give him Jared’s angry pills if he isn’t back this week.

I got bagged on here for saying Butcher was too small. He is easy meat for the opposition. Nobody fears him.

Unfortunately, I have to agree. His size is a liability. Tries hard, but just doesn't seem to have that aggressive edge. I never viewed him as a Victor Radley replacement at lock, although Isaac is disappointing me at the moment too. It is reflective of the difficulties we will inevitably face at the moment with our injuries.
                      MRR or Rabid

Some people believe supporting the Roosters
is a matter of life and death, I am very disappointed
with that attitude. I can assure you it is
much, much more important than that.

                        Isaac was injured.
I'm not a big fan of fearful hits by our players...they can injure themselves.
Isaac is not flashy but he does his job well...no matter where he's asked to play.
He's not one dropping the ball and making other mistakes all the time.

Aren’t both Nat and Isaac carrying rib injuries?

Nat got caught early last night applying kick pressure and was on his haunches.

It’s not an injury you can hide from in rugby league. Now we can throw Keary in the line to get needled pre game.
                            ..it’ll be interesting to see

Collins needs to get a little harder/grubbier & the Chooks need another big front rower like Asofa solomona. Liu, SST, Aubusson, Sitilli & Butcher were no match for the Storms giants. Farmersilly is not big enough either to play in the middle unless you have 3 other giants playing front row.
