  • Round One Odds

Not sure if anyone noticed but the Roosters are not the favourites against Souths Round 1(odds from Centrebet). I'm not suprised and I guess its fair considering where we both finished on the ladder. Its still early and 55 days away but i like these odd's.

    South Sydney 1.71
    Easts 2.13

What are your thoughts do you feel like its a fair assumption with Souths having their new coach and no recognized half.

They have a rep & premiership winning centre pair...we have ????

I cant remember when they have not been round one favs.....they always seem to lose apart from the shellacking a couple of years ago, but they were still favs.

Take the 2 bucks & laugh

We were round 1 favorites this year.

Darkone, Melbourne never won the premiership, I don't see a premiership winning centre pairing

I like it when the other team are favourites we seem to go better as the underdogs.

              Roosters First Game

Dont under estimate the difference Maguire will make at Souths, I badly wanted us to sign him, before Smith was announced as our coach, he is the next Bennet / Bellamy, he will turn Souths around bigtime, so we better be well prepared for round one, because they will turn up ready to play, you can bet on that.

No doubt, Maguire's impact i already being felt in Chalmers St.

A couple of weeks ago, at 8am on a wet Monday morning, I saw he had them out in the park going flat out doing ball work.

Never saw that under Bomber MacRae, JT or Johnny Lang. He's had some of the forwards working on the building site for the Leagues Club and even gone to the local cafes telling them about the players' dietary requirements.

It's all signs he's toughening them up.

On the other hand, it's going to be very hard to win the comp without a quality halfback.

Either way, I think the Bunnies will be a tougher proposition this year.

They had a "great" year in 2011 and we had a *shocker*... But if Sandow didn't kick that field goal, we would have finished in front of them. They're big on talk... When's their GF against the Dragons? They often shut up shop for the year after that.
