With the NRL working bloody extra hard to have the comp back ahead of every other bloody sport in the world, I’m fed up with the whining from players about not being able to see their mum/wife/partner/kids for few weeks. Well there are thousands who work FIFO and are deprived of such things for up to 2 months at a stretch ( I was one at one time), and some in the armed forces are away for up to 6 months or more, and why do they all do it? For $$$$$$.
if you want to be paid then grow a pair and effin harden up and be thankful that you are being given an opportunity to ply your trade whilst being looked after and protected as much as possible.

Those poor players, having to live in a resort and play footy for a few months whilst being paid enormous sums of money.

Anyone would think they were being asked to fight in North Africa at the Siege of Tobruk; staving off Rommel's German offensive.

Newsflash, footy players: the majority of the world's population have to fight tooth and nail every damn day to eek out an existence.

You privileged few are part of the top 10% of the 10% of people who have the luxury of living in the Western world, who themselves are part of the 1% of people throughout human history to have lived in such comfortable times.

So that makes you amongst the 0.01% of most privileged humans in recorded history.

So please don't have a sook Mr Boyd or Mr Smith if you have to leave your family for a few months to go play footy whilst earning roughly 1m dollars for your time.

Ridiculous comment. It’s an individual choice as to how you make money and how much you are willing to sacrifice to make it. Don’t bag people for wanting to be with there families. Seriously mate who cares what you did.

I agree , the days of blokes playing for the love of the game is still there with some but it's a different generation now.
Its all about"getting mine" for some players.
They have grown up watching American sports where it's more important showing off your break dancing skills after you scored a touchdown even though your team is down by 20.
