  • Lindsay !

How good was that hit up in the WCC.
If he maintains that sort of stuff , and ball security , he’ll be awesome.
Can’t wait for the footy to start.

He has a bit of pace and a step. Could be a real weapon for us.

Which Lindsay are you talking about?

How long before someone suggests he play left centre?

Just as long as he is always up to scratch with defence

Think this will be his break out year.

Just hope we don't lose him as he is a long term replacement for JWH in the near future.

Robbo preferred a solid defense over a big hit up. But yeah, collusion was massive in St Helen match

I’m not a football player. What would you classify as a break out year for a non football player? The year a guy first gets laid?

He seemed to get a form of concussion from that hit up.
He must not do that type of hit up again, it was too fast, too hard.

Lindsay is the type of player who makes me want to watch the game. The more agro the better.

If that's the case, I peaked way too soon (and imagine most others woulda too... no pun intended but heck... the pun would aptly describe that particular experience so I might as well own it).

Serious answer, I reckon that day when after ~10-15 years of grinding away at your individual career level, somebody gives you the tap on the shoulder for a promotion to the next stage. In my case I'd become a bit of a journeyman within a garbage organisation... hadn't had a promotion in 8 years but had been shifted around sideways on countless occasions (usually to jobs nobody else wanted, being micro-managed by psycho managers... I learned to patiently nod and smile a lot). I'd gone a bit crazy with job applications (desperately trying to get out) and optimistically put in an application for a dream employer, expecting to get a generic rejection letter at best. Instead I got an interview. The interview was going nowhere then roughly 1/2 way through there was a turning point. The panel was like 'yeah but sometimes we need to persuade people that they are wrong and fight the status quo... what do you REALLY think?!?' Major turning point. I let out 8 years of trapped emotions, turned on a light and got offered the job right away. I then subsequently got offered 3 promotions within the next 2 years. This has since plateaued a bit but I love my work and I'm now senior enough (within a place with an awesome culture) that I'm feeling pretty sweet about it all. I'm sure there will be other steps along this journey but like... that'll always be my breakthrough.

Different profession but IMO that's similar to (for example) moving from being a top-30 player for various clubs on minimum salary to being paid $400k+ to take on a pretty much guaranteed role within the top 13 at a good club. JT and Gallen always said 'you take the pay cut to stay with a club you like over the $$$ every time'. IMO when you reach that stage of satisfaction where it's not all about the money and getting to the next rung, you've had your breakthrough moment.

More to maintaining a first grade spot than just powerful hitups, he was dropped last season on the back of handling errors/penalties conceded and defensive lapses, later in the year when he returned he cut down a lot of these errors.
