Used to enjoy that program back in the 70's, so let's try an episode here:
If you were on a panel that had Politis and Trent on it and Lattrell came to you apologising saying that he has been ill advised by his entourage and has made a huge error, and that he realises NOW what the Roosters had done for him and would like to show his appreciation by accepting the play next year and in '21-22 for $700k a season, and to be paid bonuses for topping the try scorers and point scorers list.
Q1: Would you take him back?
Q2: Would the fans embrace him and take him back in their hearts and forget the goings on of the last 6 weeks?

I always accept an apology. It takes courage to make one. I always tell my boys that a real man will always apologise if he has done something wrong.

I think Latrell's ego is too big for him to apologise and the fact that he surrounds himself with his money hungry family and Mundine doesn't help.

The grass is rarely greener on the other side.

Absolutely to both hypothetical questions. While nothing would make me happier, I doubt it will happen.

          Yes and yes.
I'd take him back at 800k per year, 21-22. But you'd want to have a heart to heart with him and make sure he genuinely wants to stay. Also, I think you'd want to consult the players to make sure they were on board.

I totally agree. Yes and yes. But I also think that scenario is very unlikely to happen unfortunately.

Latrell has let his success go to his head. He doesn’t see that he got that success from being in a very successful team giving him enormous support to achieve that success.

as much as im hating on latrell right now , its a yes and yes. i for the life of me cannot understand why he wants out so, 800 k is excellent money , he could stay another few years , learn his craft in a great team with great culture, probably pick up another premiership. but no money is king to our latrell.

As much as I rate Latrell I would honestly say no. Clearly his motivation is about money. He has already talked about retirement plans which highlights his lack of motivation for the game. Also, as talented as he is, he floats in and out of games way too much in my opinion to be earning 800k. I would much rather use his money to secure true roosters eg. JWH, Friendy, Butch etc.

Yes but I don't think an apology is required. All he's gotta do if he wants a contract is get his manager to contact to the club and say 'he's had a think over the holidays and would like to stay... here's a number, discuss...'

I doubt Roosters management begrudge Latrell for chasing more money. I am fairly certain they do begrudge him chasing money during the finals, and claiming he deserved more money because HE "won us two premierships". There is that cliche about no player being bigger than the club. Latrell currently acting like he is. There is no comeback from that.

Yes and Yes but with the condition he has I love the Roosters tattooed on his head so every time he looked in the mirror he could remember his error
