Good Morning All, Bit of a quick rant. How many of you are driven mad every time a commentator calls Toops the Giraffe? I absolutely hate it and think it is pretty insulting. I wish they would just call him by his name. I think it would be a lot more respectful.

i get more annoyed when the fools on Channel 9 commentary get him confused with Anthony tupou. then go on to say our forward pack all looks the same and all their names sound the same all cause they are Polynesian or Maori

I remember one game in 2013, Rabs the entire game was calling him Roger. Even he scored a try and Rabs called him Tuivasa-Sheck, then mumbled back & forth between Tupou/ tuivasa-sheck because he didn't know who was which ! As for the Giraffe, I don't see that as to much of an insult, he is tall and gets up pretty high, Toops is so layback, I don't think he'd really care all that much. He's in best career form, and when was the last time you saw him rag-dolled by the defence ..he certainly has increased his strength !

Trobbo said he will be fine to play. Though I always worry about groin injuries, they seem to just hang around for the season ..it's like the complete rest of an off-season is only way to totally get over them. Remember Freddie's groin back in 98ish ?

That's great news. I agree that Toups has been one of our best. Yeah I hope he is still strong running out of our end. I have a lot of respect for Toups. He has been a loyal rooster and continued to improve.

Our next best behind Teddy. So consistent this year. Has finally realised he is a beast and fights hard in every tackle. His post contact fighting has been amazing.

I think he has just realized his own strength.
never before has he made post contact meters so consistently like he is right now. He would be in career best form imo.
