To be fair that's the just a reflection of the limitation of Gordon Tallis's analysis on everything. "team x forward pack beat up team y forward pack" regardless of how much truth there is to it.

Souths were gritty no doubt and their defence was desperate but it's a stretch to say they just ran harder. We made 300 more metres with only marginally more possession.

In transition we were dominating and in yardage we were very good.

It was our execution and attacking play that lost us the game. We bombed 2 or 3 tries in the first half and couldn't capitalise on our field position in the 2nd half as our attack was very clunky and expansive with no real direction. To Souths credit they scambled well in defence and when they had their 10 minutes of good field position in that 2nd half they capitalised with 2 quick back to back tries.

Gordon Tallis is just very poor pundit. Not sure we should be paying a whole lot of attention to what he says or that we should care.

It was 2 tries a piece. They won on penalty goals. It was probably our slackest performance of the year. Made too many mistakes. Bombed tries. Latrell had his worst game of the year.
We only have to improve 25% on our performance and we will win. 50% improvement and we will well. If we play our best we thrash them.
Tallis doesn’t have a clue.

It's super cute that some pundits are analysing our game vs the Rabbits as though we actually cared.

Robbo got what he needed out of the first half. Where as the 2nd half was something the Pakistani cricket team would've been proud of.

We used the game as a trial. Souffs however poured everything they have into winning that game and still it was 2 tries each after we bombed two more.

But come Friday night I honestly think Roosters by 32 is far more likely than Roosters by 2.

And Gordy, Bondi boy and Ray Stehr will be the only ones legitimately shocked when we flog them.

They had the Bunnies on the ropes until Souths dragged the game into the trenches and made it a knock-em-down, drag-em-out, old fashioned sort of contest.

They bashed them. Plain and simple.

You can have all the game plans and structures in place that you want but if the other mob is tackling and running harder than you, it doesn’t mean that much.

The Bunnies hunted as a pack and delivered a blueprint that the likes of Melbourne, Canberra and others will look to follow.

I’m pretty sure the Roosters will win by 10 or more against the dirty ferrets. Like last year it will seem like all our positive stats will double. Line speed, intensity, support play, tackling numbers, etc, etc. the roosters team that morphed when we took on Cronulla never looked back.

Funny how he said on Johns show that JWH deserves to be suspended because even if it was accident you can't make contact with the head......yet last year when he defended Napa's leading with the head tackle as it was " accident, sometimes these things happen in rugby league"- it also coincided with Napa impending selection in the QLD state of origin team.

As ive said before about Tallis, he is uncomfortable and awkward in front of the camera, his commentary on live matches provides no insight or interest, he is as boring as bat shit on the radio- he has no place in the media so he has to sensationalise anyway he can to avoid having to do what his talents are actually suited to-and thats getting a normal day job.

I haven't read it, but if he says Souths bashed us he is spot on. They back-slammed plenty of our guys and were in our faces all night, but I don't think they can do it again. Tallis is no Bennett fan so he is not just blowing smoke. He is thick but he got this right.
