  • Sam Verrills

Very impressive first half I reckoned.

    Let’s hole he’s okay.

    He’s definitely no passenger.

The team is so different with Radley at dummy half.

Radley is half the player he is when he has to fill in.
Born and bred in the eastern suburbs.

Verills was great today until he got hurt, our team probably would have scored another try or 2 if Sam plays the whole game, they were saying on the coverage he is close to re signing a 2 year deal.I hope this is true.

Has a lot to learn missed 7 tackles in 40 minutes and gave up on a play close to the line. Yes his passing is better than Radley, but we don't need him running from dummy half every second set.
If a marker is down yes go, but have a look outside you champ there are a couple of Ferrari's sitting there waiting for the ball.

I agree. His decision making will improve with experience. Cook was a real bench man when he started.

I really like what I see with this kid.

Seems wily and has the balls to try stuff, which is impressive when you look at his spine colleagues’ collective experience.

Yes...had he stayed alert and not assumed that the tackle was complete, he might have stopped their first try.

The kid has got good passing and decision making. You can see the confidence Keary and Cronk had with him in the Titans game and against the Raiders in the first half. I think if he just works on his defence and speed/agility then he can be a very good quality dummy-half and successor to Friend. He has a different style to Friend but it's pleasing to watch a specialist hooker play and provide service. There's no need to look for a back up hooker outside of the club !
