Love the guy, hope he coaches Easts for decades and brings us many premierships.
BUT - I think for him to really get to Bellamy/Bennet echelon of coach, there needs to be a little bit more humility brought into his coaching and he needs to be willing to make adjustments if certain tactics don’t pay off.
1. Winger on bench, never want to see this as a fan ever. Don’t understand it, not sure what it does for the rhythm of the team. But Robbo being Robbo I’m sure he’ll pull it out again soon.
2. Aubusson to centre - nullifies the attack of the side he plays on, doesn’t bring out the best in him. Essentially makes our attack one sided and much easier to predict.
3. Resting players - it’s backfired so far this year, I think it’s a pretty bold but disrespectful move. Latrell and angus wouldnt have made a huge difference today but we could have played people the right positions and would’ve kept a few players down on form out of the team (I.e Collins)
melbourne as an example find ways of winning those sorts of matches, Penrith were bloody awful but we seemed to just hand them the game due to too much inexperience and being way too slow in attack
