Why are people so happy for Pearce? He takes a shot at the club at every opportunity. After last week's loss, he was asked if Newcastle was a party club, his response was along the lines that the Knights are a hard working club, my previous club was a party club. He was also asked earlier in the year what was his greatest moment playing NRL, he responded kicking a field goal last season for Newcastle to beat Manly (I think that was the team). Had we had Cronk over the last decade and not Pearce, we would have won 4 premierships at a minimum.

Pearce is all about Pearce. Didn’t want to take a backseat to Cronk so he wanted out even though we wanted him to stay. He is still very bitter about the Chooks signing Cronk and probably always will be. His time at the Chooks is in the past. He made his bed and now has to live with the fact he will probably not see another premiership. The Chooks on the other hand have gained so much by him leaving. Let’s face it, he was a good half in his day but never reached the heights in the game that his father did and now time is against him plus being in an average team doesn’t help. Bottom line it was his choice to leave and that’s the path he chose.

I couldn’t care less what Pearce does moving forward as he is no longer with our Club..
In regards to his comments about our Club,I must say I am not surprised as he seems to be all about himself.
We are blessed to have Cooper Cronk and no longer have to put up with Pearce’s failures and his constant deer in headlights facial expressions.

I love how Robbo called them the form team last week when asked 'so if you're not the form team of the comp then who is?' Robbo was like 'I dunno, who was it this week.. Parra... yeah so Parramatta are the form team right now I reckon'.
Him, Watson, Guerra, SKD...etc are all like ex-girlfriends. We got a bit of action outta them and stuff but there was no long-term future in it.

I wouldn't get in a tizz about a couple of off the cuff comments to the media...as much as anything I suspect he is trying to defend and boost his current team. I'm sure Cronk has done the same with us since joining, and left his Melbourne experiences to one side.
And we didn't exactly give him any red carpet treatment in the off-season signing a new halfback after all Mitchell's years of service to the club.
Not saying we did the wrong thing, but it would be understandable if he didn't have big love for us now. And I'm sure he and the boys from Easts still get along well, it's just fan talk.

I for one, am looking forward to a dedicated thread about each and every one of our former players when they do well.Originally posted by boogie

To be fair, he was pushed. There was never a serious plan for him to be a bench halfback behind Cronk.Originally posted by RoosterChick View PostPearce is all about Pearce. Still... makes you wonder who his $$$ will be used to sign/retain. Latrell on a $500k upgrade possibly? I reckon ~$750k a season could lock in Latrell for 5 years with the added bonus that he's a better backup half than Pearce woulda been :P

I don't care if he doesn't have much love for the club, I just don't understand why I am reading this thread in the Chookpen. I am sure Newcastle have a forum somewhere.Originally posted by Jacks Fur Coat View PostI wouldn't get in a tizz about a couple of off the cuff comments to the media...as much as anything I suspect he is trying to defend and boost his current team.
