Not sure exactly how true this is but apparently a journo from Fairfax heard Cronk had a broken shoulder in the lead up to the GF and midweek and rang the club to try and get confrimation of this. The story goes the club categorically denied this and laughed off the journo reiterating it was a shoulder cuff injury. Whoever issued the denial was so convincing they believed it and did not run with it in the media. On finding out afterwards the young journo was on the money I imagine the journo and Webster were livid about it, This I believe is where the article about the club lying has originated from
