I would like to suggest that any dual-premiership winning Sydney Roosters player now becomes off-limits from criticism on this forum moving forward. This would include Friend, Tupou, Aubusson, Cordner and JWH. In the past I have been guilty of bagging Friend and Tupou in particular but not anymore. For me they are now off- limits. They have brought pride and prestige to this club and have earnt my respect no matter what they do moving forward.

The fact is players go in and out of form all the time. Friend was hopeless early on and a superstar in the GF.
I suggest that people recognise this fact in their posts and avoid comments that suggest that one or two bad games equates to being useless and requires the player's immediate replacement.

All year a few tried to float the idea its a long season and the coach was playing the long game and you don’t win comps in April and form is temporary but class is a forever thingy.
Come round 1 next year and we lose it will be sack Robbo and Friendly and Toops and replace them with Supermegareservegraders.

I think it comes back to respect. Criticism of players or performance should be done in a constructive manner. Otherwise we may as well be barracking for the opposition. I respect anyone good enough to wear the Roosters jersey in first grade. That is no easy gig. if somebody makes a mistake in a game or has a run of bad form, the opposition will give it to him anyway. Last thing he needs is his own fans joining the throng.
What happened to Friend was terrible (the booing I mean) as it's not as if he's not trying. I don't think I've known many to try harder than Jake, week in, week out. Going from hero to villian for mine can only happen when the guys disrespect the club and fans by not putting in. I've got to admit I was happy to see some like Willie Mason, Todd Carney etc shown the door when they didn't put in. Then I don't blame the fans for having their say on it.
But if anything the Roosters are cleaning up their culture more than ever and the coach and team have mutual respect so onward and upward. Looking forward to next season already. But in between I'll watch a few replays.Comment

Im not fan of a protected species policy at the Roosters. If your underperforming then get prepared to get hammered no matter who you are and what you've done.....because at the Roosters success on the field comes first. Nick would punt any of those dual premiership players tomorrow if it meant continued future success....and that's how it should be.
The best part of the Roosters is they embrace their past but it doesn't dictate or influence the future. If a player wants a crusey non judgemental life with no expectations to win-no matter who they are- then Easts isn't the club for them.Comment

We are here to talk Roosters and sometimes that means criticising.
Emotions take hold,
No one persons point of view is absolute,
I made a comment about MAubs this year that I regret, something about him being surplus to our needs. How wrong was I.
Where will MAubs play next year with the Rabbit coming? Probably off the bench.
Anyway every one has a different point of view and that is what makes it interesting coming on here to discuss everything Roosters
