I'd assume it's because he was leaving anyway and a long shot to play 1st grade for us. Bulldogs probably pressed the case further with Faitala-Mariner out for the season. There were even reports saying that he could switch before June 30 when his 2019 deal was announced

Will be interesting to see if he makes FG at the Dogs. I havnt seen him play enough footy to know if he will make it but I know he came to the Chooks from Penrith where he did show some ability about 4 years ago. For some reason he wasnt really given a chance at the Roosters whether or not that was an attitude thing or that the Chooks didnt really rate him? who knows.
