No but the Queen and I watched Young Megs and Harry get hitched though - hello to red Cuban bandana (Pete Fitzsimmons) who no doubt would have been having a sneaky peak too despite his seditionary views- the commo loving atheist twat.
Bit surprised though they didn't play the Sham 69 classic - Hurry Up Harry at the Church - maybe got a run at one of the receptions :-)

You should be following the dogs in that case since you played for them- mmm or are you a 5th Columnist ?Originally posted by Random Rooster View Post
You can have your opinion on Cronk and Tedesco....anyone can and should have an opinion
However your claim that the salary cap had something to do with the Dogs not signing Tedesco is just another of your MADE UP BS. They had no salary cap issues at the time.In the end he chose the Roosters because it was a better fit for him. The Dogs never pulled out of the race to sign him and were bitterly disappointed when he didnt sign with them. You on the other hand reported that the Roosters were no longer in contention to sign him- it was the Dogs or Tigers. YOU MADE IT UP. Alot of Chookpen members have a go at you because you so obviously MAKE UP ALOT OF BS.
Then you accuse me of belittling Gould and say its a disgrace.I have never belittled Gould. Again you MADE IT UP. In fact i have posts that have said he was the turning point to our success. However he, nor anyone else, has ever claimed that he saved the Roosters from relegation. He was never bought to the club to save the Roosters from relegation. Your mate, Uncle Nick, bought him to establish a base for success....and yes he transformed the club and is a major reason for the clubs success for the last 25 years
Now the positive side of you MAKING UP alot of your posts is you may land a sports role at Fox News whereby they have twits that just say anything.
Just another thing....i played a couple of years of third grade and 2 reserve grade games for the Bulldogs in the late eighties....and no one cares because it means nothing! So for Farks sake drop your East Campbelltown bs .....your just making a bloody moron of yourself
No one is interested in yesterday you should now that by now - it's now or never time - oh and go the East Campbelltown Eagles too :-)
Ooh I am shaking in my boots with a lot of chookpen folk having a go at me too - oh how can I sleep at night - very well if you ask.
Ron Jones was the reason Uncle Nick has the base for success as you put it - Jones took over a club that was bound for bankruptcy and turned it around to be one of the most financial and well run clubs in the industry including turning around the fortunes of the associated football club as well - People don't remember such facts- only who is running the organisation know as history is overlooked and forgotten under the now time brigade.

Random Rooster would be a apt name for you I suggest being one of those casual supporters we all hear about- 108 Posts only. AnywayCronk should have hung up his boots in 2017 then -playing on is often not the right option as he is sadly finding out - a season too long and he has another one to go too- Tedesco may have starred at the Tigers but as you know they only won 7 games last year and now much much more is expected of him at the Chooks were he is not producing- Gordon fitted in like he played here all the time despite his age including winning plenty of games for the chooks in the process.Tedesco was heading to the Dogs until matters took another course - salary cap issues which are ongoing at that club.
There is no doubt that Gussy saved the club from demotion taking over in late 1994 an absolute basket case of a club- very few players were retained at the end of 1994 and Gus had to build a new team and club - I know I was there at the home games one of very very very few during 1994 where winning the toss was a celebration - were you?? - just missed the finals in 1995 and of course no Gus no Fittler and many many many others and we made the finals from 1996 up to the decision of reducing the comp to 14 at the end of 1999 - we could not be kicked out then being finalist all those year which was one of the criteria`s for inclusion or exclusion for the 2000 season- you like some others haven't a clue about that and dish Gussy and belittle him always - a disgrace
Ask JohnnyTobin about Gussy as he would have been one of the very few in 1994 also attending home games.
Gussy`s clean out of the club was the biggest of any sporting club in Australia - I recall only Luke Ricketson/ Craig Salvotori/ Jamie Shepherd (although he signed with North Sydney under the transfer set up at the time) and Rod Silva being retained - so he had to build a team/club from virtually scratch for the 1995 season.
I respect all our moderators here. Past present and even future. Always have done and always will do a wonderful job.

Exactly, cmon guys n gals.Originally posted by Johnny Tobin View PostAnyone who seriously puts forward we should have kept Gordon instead of getting Tedesco is struggling big time.
IT WAS GORDON HIMSELF THAT SAID HE COULD NOT PLAY ANOTHER YEAR AT FULLBACK PLAYING THE WAY THE ROOSTERS WANTED HIM TO PLAY.
GORDON SAID THIS HIMSELF.

Reality is something many on here fail to see - oh the easy draw and predictions of big wins never have eventuated - so I don't know who is being honest or just clinging to hope.Originally posted by John Corey View PostTo suggest Nick goes is just ludicrous. With that statement you lose whatever credibility you had.

Silly comments again as you like others were rejoicing about the easy draw and big wins which haven't eventuated have they - one has to say recruitment and retention has been a major issue for years at the Chooks being a recruitment club instead of a development one - Uncle Nick decides who is signed /who goes/who coaches etc - that cannot happen anymore - Uncle Nick runs the whole operation(leagues club/football club etc) the same as the much maligned by many on here Ron Jones did in relation to who is signed / who isn't and who coaches etc the football side of things - Both Ron Jones and Uncle Nick have been great for the club especially Ron Jones- virtually the same type of people in that regards.Originally posted by crikey chris View PostKing Salvo fishing again, regergetating the same bs anti easts threads, via cut and paste, from his previous anti Easts threads. When was the last time you were actually happy about anything Easts related?
Uncle Nick needs to take a step back and let those responsible for the football side of the operations make these decisions - Do you think Robbo had a say in Cronks signing -no- solely Uncle Nicks decisions

Let me get my head around it.....your saying no one is interested in yesterday then go on about Ron Jones and how history is overlooked. I was saying the Gould laid the base for success on the field not Politis.Originally posted by King Salvo View Post

As for Ron Jones you have conveniently overlooked the part in your obituary link that read "The final controversy came with his decision to resign after the Licensing Court examined the club's finances". Yep if you call resigning being escorted out of the club. He may have helped build Easts Leagues but he also was caught red handed fleecing it too. His recognition for what he achieved for the club came in the form of the board at the time not taking his shonky dealings to higher authorities, otherwise he would have been spending a few years in Long Bay. As you stated "People don't remember such facts"

So your saying that Gussy laid the base for on field success and not Politis - wont get you many points here as most hate Gussy but don't understand his impact on the club during the dark days and beyond - never mind.
Most on here have no interest in history a fact - always thinking of the now - don't seem to understand that history does repeat itself.
No Ron Jones no Easts Leagues club or Roosters football club is what you should have gleaned from the article though - 2000 members to 48,000 under his watch - thriving leagues club and premierships to boot - signed Big Jack Gibson as coach for the 1967 season when no other one would - wooden spooners in 1966 to finalist in 1967 - signed a host of Players too as you would have read in the article.
Not charged with anything and no time in jail so nothing to answer for.- No use posting opinions without bases or facts - your not employed by the ABC perhaps as they are big on that- the left wing/pc/ greens run waste of tax payer funds.Last edited by King Salvo; 05-21-2018, 12:21 AM.

Ron also was in charge when Bob Fulton went back to Manly with a host of our stars. He was also in charge when he went on holidays and allowed Ron Gibbs to leave. He signed a whole heap of rubbish from Wests and Sharks and appointed Laurie Freier as coach. In fact while he was busy lining his own pockets his failings in the 80s set the club back 20 years.
Now you would think a man who took the club from the doldrums to a financial success would have some recognition from the club.....an award, a plaque....something anything. Facts are after the licencing court went thru the place he was busted and he didnt fight it . He got booted and no one has mentioned his name since....besides you and that obituary.
