Question re Video Refereeing

I have a question in regards to the amount of footage the Video referee reviews before making his judgement.
For example in last nights Souths v Broncos game they only reviewed the grounding of the ball on a long range Bronco try yet in other games they review the whole play.
Is this the on-field referees call on what is reviewed?

Often the referee will just ‘send up’ what particular area they want reviewed (touch line, grounding, control etc).

In the Roosters case this seems to be checking everything including whether or not our players brushed their teeth before bed.

Example was the Maubs one on Wednesday when the ref questioned the bunker to see if he was held off the ball and then they analysed 30 angles to find a knock on from Fargo which was at best still backwards.

On kicks that lead to trys, they tend to start at the offside from the kick,
Just thought they would reveiw the whole play,
Sometimes you see something in back play that doesn't get replayed.

They have dug a hole for themselves forcing the onfield ref to make a call.

The bunker then agonises to 'prove' the 'guess' correct, rather than just make the most appropriate call that most can see anyway.

The ref should not pass it on to the bunker with a recommendation...he either makes the call, or says "not sure, your call".

The bunker was brought in, so the NRL could manipulate games.
It stops momentum when necessary, changes on field decisions when certain teams need help and allows the refs to get a helping hand.

Yep. I also love how they still have the green "download bar" thingie that gradually fills to 100% while the "decision is pending", as if the communication from the bunker is being transferred to the screen via a 1990s dial up internet connection.

The bunker sucks dogs balls. Jaryd Maxwell is the perfect occupant.
