  • Cannot blame the forwards this week

Fark St Merge. Fark the officials.

Surely the score flattered the Merge.

Its a shame we can only score 2 tries in two consecutive weeks. Whats up there?

Our forwards were excellent, we rolled the ruck with ease, we dominated field position & their defence was exceptional and the highlight of our bog average performance.

Time for some others in the team who have been happy to point the finger to take some accountability.

The officials were piss poor, Dragons weren't penalised once for being off-side (amazing given the crack down this season), Mcinnes wasn't sin binned for the most blatant professional foul (amazing given the sin bins we've seen this season) and the Nene Macdonald try.... we'll amazingly inept doesn't do it justice. **** the refs for referring this game to a different standard than we have seen or been subject to for the past 7 weeks. Consistently is all we want.

You can’t blame the refs 6, yes they put the whistle away and that “try” was a shit call but we were still very ordinary in attack. With the possession and field position we had in the first half we should have scored at least two try’s. I don’t think we even got a repeat set, something Junior was bagged so much for

I hear you 6..............Some blatant terrible officiating. How long with this go on ????????

Even the dragons were shocked the Nene try was given.

Still can't stand Friend's rainbow dummy half passes to his right above Coopers head. Also noticed that Cooper throws a fairly short long ball, We were up against it again from the first Fergo mistake, and I guess Boyd was just buggered in the last minute of the first half.

Oh I'm not blaming the refs at all, just commenting on their performance. I actually preferred the way they officiated the game today as opposed to how it's been officiated for the first 7 rounds, it made for a much better spectacle.

But you can't just chop and choose which games you're going to officiate one way and others another way. It's inconsistent and frustrating for fans and undoubtedly more so for the coaches and players.

What constitutes a sin bin 6 days ago for Latrell can't change 6 days later for Mcinnes.

I am not sure I agree in whole. I thought Jared and SST were very good, however was dissapointed in Liu and Matterson and again Napa was very slow in most of what he did, defensively I will admit he was ok. As a collective though they just lack the ability to generate second phase play as they get dominated at contact, JWH and SST excepted. Cordner is a grafter but doesn't have the ability to get the ball away. Butcher was criminally underused today, I just don't understand the point of having Friend and Radley on the field at the same time. Offloads went the way of the Dragons 19 to 8 today. That killed us.

I realize there are some on this thread who are quite new to rugby league and don't watch other teams play, but if they did they would see what a big role the pack, eg; front rowers getting across the advantage line and getting quick play the balls and backrowers who can create second phase, make such a difference to the effectiveness of their attack.
                ...

We could do a better job offloading, but I'm not sure how you can disagree that the forwards weren't to blame today....

It`s time for a full on review by players and coaching staff in how the season is progressing and what needs to improve (plenty to improve on one has to say)- The current way of playing is not working and no use saying oh it will gel - it will be too late by that stage - attack is way too structured and way too easily read by the defence and to rely mostly on kicks for tries will not win you many games either.

Even a bush team could have offered more in attack than what the Chooks threw at the Dragons today - Robbo needs to pick Cronks brain as I have said many many times on here and glad Gussy said the same thing too - what was the purpose of signing him and letting Pearce go- saying oh he needs to fit into our way of playing is daft as that way of playing is not working as we can all see - you sign him for his footy brain firstly and as a player second - To me he is not enjoying his footy at all - and one has to wonder if losses like this keep happening - he could well pull the pin on his career sooner than later.

Made no difference at all to the result - Chooks could still be playing and still trying for a second try - attack is abysmal one and all should see that - Robbo cannot keep going with this so called Roosters style of footy - it isn't working at all - They have to win 9 out of 16 to make the 8 (depending on for and against) now - if 30 will be the cut off -more than 50% of their games - not likely the way they are currently playing one has to say. Manly next game and a club that has the wood on us overall too.- Will need to do some real soul searching to get the season back on track.
