Working with only what we’ve got for now would this work??

The starting forwards (at full potential) should be the ones
steadying the ship for the 1st qtr,,,
Then keep our bench full of explosive fowards/players to
counter tired players also change the tempo,,,offloads
    & 2nd phase play!!!!!

    Backs are obvious
    1
    2
    3
    4
    5
    6
    7
    8. JWH
    9. Friend (no other choice)
    10. Napa
    11. Cordner
    12. Aubo/Matto (can’t have both in team)
    13. Butcher

    impact interchange

    14. TAKA
    15. Liu
    16. Tetevano
    17. Radley

Kurt Baptiste was sub for the England Hooker. Friend can't even get into the Qld state side. A hooker combo of Radley and Baptiste would be a good start. Stick friend in thrforward rotation.

How would friend work in the forward rotation? We have a meter gaining problem. This would make things much worse. And not sure if you noticed but it's harder to get into the qld side at hooker than any other rugby league side on the planet because of a bloke named Cameron Smith.

Considering Jake would have to be one of the worst Hookers going around in the NRL atm he wouldn't make it even if Smith wasn't there.

Why not ? He's a major reason for our form .

I agree but im just trying to work with what we got,,,,,
Starting forwards + friend keep it tight simple and defensive
then when the interchange come into it they’ll bring more of a attacking mentality this way friend can worry about just tackling and nothing else

I think Liu is best suited to coming off the bench and playing 50 minutes a game but there's no way Butcher would be ready to start yet.

I liked what I saw from him on Thursday night against the Rabbits but you've got to give him at least a season to settle into the pace of first grade before even thinking about starting him.

We have nothing to lose by putting butcher starting 13 just let him defend his arse off and tighten the middle which he’s capable of

We can't possibly know that he's capable of it if he's never done it before.

There's a huge difference between starting footy & coming off the bench and a young middle third forward who has 2 games under his belt shouldn't be starting games yet. I don't think we should reduce him to a tackling machine either, I think he could potentially be a bit an unlock for Teddy with his short passing game & offloading game around the ruck. I like the idea of Butcher coming off the bench against some tired forwards where he can do more than just be a battering ram.

Butcher is too small for 1st grade, he gets rag dolled for Wyong, he is a toiler in the Aubbo, Matto, Lui, style, not a ball tearing, line breaking front rower, 1 toiler is enough, let alone 4

I guess Bunny Reilly would never have got a in if you were coach, or Gilmeister. or Parra's Nathan Brown. I am not saying Butcher should be in but I definitely don't think he should be judged on his performance, not his size. The size of the fight in the dog is what counts

Gallen was small and he went alright....took him a while but he got there.

I'd be happy for butcher to start. So long as there's a plan to use him as an attacking forward with a pass and an offload. And not just a battering ram as stated. Watch south's first set with the ball last week. Jason Clark the spud was playing as a second receiver and our defensive line didn't know what to do about it.

That’s fine, so drop Matto, Aubs and Lui and bring in Butcher, no issues for me, I just don’t think we need 4 toilets in the same mound offering nothing in terms of line breaks, carry 1 maybe 2 not 4 ffs
