No doubt Gordon has been amazing for us all year - I think he'd play great in any position we gave him he's that kind of player. Watson is harder to defend against and is faster, he had great vision for the Aubusson try and imo would give us more options in attack. I dont think he would go as well in the centresOriginally posted by Jacks Fur Coat View Post
Connor was great against the Storm admittedly but Mick Gordon has been probably our best player this year and a big reason we are so high on the ladder.
He returns at fullback.

Gordon has mega experience & is the incumbent,
word is Toops is ahead of his recovery schedule, now a 4 week hiatus
should we make the top 4, both should be available from 1st week of finals giving us a luxury second chance option"Qui audet adipiscitur"

It's a real tricky conundrum. I'm loving Watson at the back. Flash has been extremely solid at the back and deserves to slot back into the team when recovered . Barring an injury, I just don't see any value in keeping Conner on the bench, Both need to be on the run on side. Whatever the formation, make it so Robbo!

Watson - too many people blowing their load off one game. My opinion, keep him in the no1 against the Tigers and Sharks. If he is OUTSTANDING in both games, keep him there for the season. Anything less, i think we should keep the tried and tested structure with Gordon at fullback. I'm 100% certain Robbos thinking is similar.
At this stage he could just as easily have a shocker next week and people would then call for his head.
Manu - love the guy in space and brilliant step. Defence however is not first grade standard and should be kept out of the side where possible until next year.
My choice at this stage for when our injured get back on deck:
1 Gordon
2 Toups
3 Mitchell
4 Aubo
5 Fingers
14 Watson - with Robbo giving him AT LEAST 20 minutes per game hopefully.Last edited by Steakface; 08-14-2017, 09:34 PM.

Is Gordon back this week? If not, then Watson at FB and Aubs in the centres and Manu gets a chance on the wing. We should not have Aubs and Matterson in the centres at the same time. When Gordon comes back, if Toops is not back then Gordon and Watson can do a Mini/RTS swapperoo in attack and defense. When Toops is back, then it's Gordon at FB and Watson on the bench, and hopefully Robbo doesn't decide to play him for 3 minutes only.

Yep,i think this is what will happen also it will keep a couple of sides guessing as to what robbo is up to.Originally posted by OMR View PostIs Gordon back this week? Flash is not going to move to wing. He will go straight to fullback. He is a better communicator defensively and much better with our sweep plays, particularly with passing. Also much better under the high ball. The only area Watson has him covered would be kick return, although I'm happy with what Flash does there as well.Originally posted by King Salvo View Post
Fergo has re-signed with the Roosters- it's about this year- If Flash back he could play wing- Watson stays at FB with Latrell and Fergo centres with Manu wing- have Cords/Maubs/Guerra/Matto defend inside them which ever side they play onEmbrace the Hate! JC
