  • Last night's performance....

Was great, we should've won which brings me to the crud performance last week. If we can get owned by Manly who's to say we don't drop the bundle against the Tigers or the Titans? If the team isn't careful they could find themselves missing out on the top 4. That loss to Manly was disgraceful and I can't cop the "they had their minds on the storm game" excuse. This team of ours has a lot of potential but gee they can be mind numbingly dumb.

There were 3 players in our forward pack who played last night who were missing in that Manly game. Cordner, SST and Friend. They make a big difference to our team.

And yet even with those 2 experienced players back we still make dumb decisions that ultimately cost us the win last night. Having said that even with Cordner and Friend we still would've found a way to lose what should've been a very important win at Brookvale.

Typical. Manly and Turbo Tom get up for us.. then the Tigers come along.

I'm just trying to keep in mind Robbo's slow build toward peaking when it matters. We're not going backwards are we.

On the bright side that win by the Tigers, will knock any potential complacency I'm sure.

Assuming we'll win is a little bit complacent IMO

All results this weekend have pretty much secured us a top four finish. Good chokes by manly and parra, and sharks getting done by the broncos have helped in a big way.

And yet Manly can't beat Wests. It's so hard to be on in every game in the NRL.

So let me get this right, Manly have lost heavily to Illawarra socks and Storm conceding 92 points then they beat us to deny us the chance of another minor premiership and a home semi and a second home semi/prelim final and 2nd favourites for the title and then a week later they get rolled by probable wooden spooners the Tigers. Yep that makes perfect sense.

Not so - we are third now on 32 -Broncos second on 32- for and against- Sharks/Parra on 30 - Cows/Manly/Penrith on 28- Dragons 26 and Raiders 24 only other chances of top 8 - We need to win at least 2 of the last 3 to be top 4 and all 3 if we want to have a chance of top 2 finish - Still much more to do and improve on and a very much a danger game against a very much improved Wests Tigers side- Need to take each game at a time as well - Robbo needs to get their heads/minds and physicality up for the Wests Tigers game after a disappointing loss to the Storm - Teams often find it hard to back up after a big game no more so than the Roosters.

Robbo went with Maubs and Matto as the centres which did limit our attack as both are forwards- (Maubs/Matto have played 5/8 and centre but are more forwards nowadays)- defence no problems with these two though - If Robbo sticks with them for rest of season say- one has to ask where our points will come from though- Toops is a big loss in that case with that combo he has with Latrell in that aspect of the game.

Whether Manu comes back into the side vs WT is to be known soon - When Flash comes back he either plays FB/Wing - Watson needs to be in the 13 at FB or Centre - If Flash Plays FB then Watson should play Centre if Watson FB then Flash Wing- Manu other centre though- Maubs/Matto in the forwards- Maubs/Matto can jump into centre if required.

Toops wont be back until week 2 of the finals series in any case.

With Flash back the team should be

                    Watson
                    Flash
                    Latrell
                    Manu

                    Guerra
                    JWH
                    Friend
                    Napa

                    Bench From
                    Matto
                    Maubs
                    Teve
                    SST
                    Evans
                    Radley

That pretty much sums it up. We're not the only club to get beaten when we shouldn't be beaten.

I think Gordon will slot straight back into fullback.

One has to wonder where the points will come from if Robbo sticks with Maubs and Matto as centres- good players both but one would say they are there for more defensive reasons than attack ones. Say Watson at FB and Flash as winger - Cords/Maubs/Guerra defending next to centres Latrell and Manu - If Flash Fullback then Watson centre with Fergo outside him on the wing on that side (Latrell Centre/Manu wing on the other side) - Cords/Maubs/Guerra inside defending with Latrell/Watson on the outside of them - which ever side they defend and play on- Centres and wingers can interchange as well in defence or attack if need be.

Robbo could also have the following side- Fergo centre and Manu Wing- i.e Toops returning week 2 of finals

                          Watson
                          Flash
                          Latrell
                          Fergo
                          Manu
                          Keary
                          Pearce
                          Lui
                          Cordner
                          Guerra
                          JWH
                          Friend

Bench From- Maubs/Matto/SST in 17 or starting - 17th player from either Teve/Evans/Radley/Collins
                          Matto
                          Maubs
                          Teve

I based our top four in beating tigers and titans, if we can't, then it won't matter where we finish.

a lot of the top 8 play each other which will stop a few catching us anyway.
