The Refs don't intentionally give penalties against the Roosters. They subconsciously give penalties to a team that is getting beaten. The fist penalty to NQ was bullshit and turned the game. A few years ago we were so good that we could overcome penalties but this year is so close that we really struggle with back to back sets.
This is the problem with our game. Discretionary penalties have way to much influence on the game!
The ref is in such a difficult position these days. With replays on TV.
The refs don't mean to do it. It is just a split decision.
The try to Hess was No try but the Ref had to Guess and went with Try. In Union The Ref can ask Try or no Try, or, is their any reason I cannot award a try.
I just think penalties have way too much influence on our game and it infuriates the fans.
Anyone got any ideas on how to reduce the impact of discretionary penalties? Maybe just start the tackle count again with no kick for the sideline?
Again NO way do the Refs get together and work out "how can we F#%K over the Roosters this weekend"
I am not Ref bashing. Under the current rules they have a very difficult job and have to make split decisions.
