No but you did say SST being out was a nail in our coffin - cold weather slippery ground would mean a grinding affair and old Souffs Vermin thought they could go around us not through us and as Gussy no doubt would have said as he always says your previous game isn't the basis to play your next game like.

I like Collins. Gee they came of their line hard at him but he took the hit each time and still bent the line. Good leg speed and looks to have plenty of pump about him.Originally posted by Thirteen View PostWhat a boot Cornish has. Kicks off both feet too. Lindsay Collins little stint with was also quality.
I didn't think we would win so I'm happy about this one.
Go Chooks.

I also have noticed in all of the game time he has had in first grade every time he has run at the line with gusto but unfortunately every time he has been hammered or stopped dead in his tracks. Has heart has skill and courage but if he can't get over the advantage line ever he is of no benefit for the team.
Rated very highly but some great judges so i suppose he should get another few chances but not this season. Ineffective.
Think Collins did really well- should have had more game time - set up the second try with a hard run and quick play the ball.
Evans - feel sorry for him these days - first PTB knocks on - ffs. But then I thought he tried really hard to make up for that and had a really strong running game. Well done Kane - that was heaps better.

My mates are all like 'you're a top 4 team easy, you knew you'd win!!! Why don't you ever back you team? Everybody knew you'd win...'
I really dunno how anybody can watch how we played last week and then expect us to beat a desperate team (that's hitting late form) with our Origin players + SST out.
IMO people love to discredit how hard we work for our wins. I love watching us because I know there will always be a good battle (unless we give up and play like poo). I can never confidently say 'we WILL win this week' regardless of where the other team is ranked.
I took quite a few years trying to work out why Cords always had 'Origin written all over him'. The commentators last night (not a bad bunch... Gus and Joey so Roosters all the way!) were talking up Butcher and Collins. Collins in particular... I never heard much about him but they were saying he was a massive steal that was odd because Brisbane woulda REALLY wanted him.Originally posted by Tommy Smith View PostA bit harsh on Butcher.
He's only played 3 games!
A lot of good judges rate him highly and after another off season where he adds another 5kg I reckon he'll be in our 17 for rnd 1 next year.
As always, I'm an amateur so I don't see stuff that the pros do. I figure when you've had their level of experience you see lots of stuff that I simply don't. Like even last night... the commentary was spot on with their predictions about what Souffs were planning. Clearly they look at stuff amateurs don't know about.Last edited by ism22; 07-08-2017, 11:09 AM.

Most of our games depend on where the players heads are at.Originally posted by ism22 View Post

I usually can. In fact, these days we are so spoilt I almost always expect to win. But last night with five of our best out and them at full strength plus recent form I just couldn't see us winning. That's what makes it so sweet. It's massive for us because we would really have to screw up now to miss top four and with some luck we can be top two.Originally posted by ism22 View Post

And we aren't even close to our potential.
