They were miles better than us today, they were 19/19 completions at half time and the penalty count was 5-1 in there favour. We were doing well to be in it at half time but the effort told in the 2nd half. I'm happy to put today down to one of those days where they were on fire and we were off the boil. Storm and Sharks are the bench mark and we now know where we need to be when the whips are cracking. The thing about today is that the Sharks can't play any better then that where as we obviously have heaps of room for improvement

I would just like to say
Up, up, Cronulla,
the boys in the black white and blue.
Up, up, Cronulla,
name of the sharks fits you.
Sharks, sharks, forever
go out and play without fear.
Now’s the time to see good football,
cause the sharks are here!
Up the sharks!Cronulla Sharks Theme Song... Up up Cronulla, The boys in the black white and blue. Up up Cronulla, The name of the Sharks fit you. Sharks, Sharks forever, G...

That's right. However it was indicative of the refs turning a blatant blind eye to the peptides cheating tactics. I reckon when the peptides next plat either of the two News ltd teams they will be caned in the penaltiesOriginally posted by chopstiks View PostNobody's saying Lewis try made one iota of difference.

Seems half of the run on side shared your sentiment. I'm a coastie and went to the game today. If that's the kind of performance the players want to give their coast fans, then yep, why bother.Originally posted by chopstiks View PostBy all accounts it was a good crowd and day out, but with hindsight boy am I glad I didn't make the effort for THAT!

Not sure if it was already noted but the one highlight from yesterday was the performance from Wyong.
They are playing so consistently with a tough, committed, no panic style of football that I labelled the "Storm of the Intrust Cup" yesterday. Plus they can turn on the dazzle when required.
Some great coaching and preparation of this squad.
Now...if only..

I went to the game - a great friendly crowd. We were totally outclassed. Our lack of forward speed evident again and a day when the statedgy of blending youth and experience didn't work.
our defence technique so questionable - sharks just so much physically stronger - Fitzy our defence coach needs immediate help.

Don't know where to post this so I'll put it here.
Mitchell Pearce plays a good game of footy, he just doesn't see a game like elite halves are expected to.
He seems incapable of playing "eyes up" footy & has poor peripheral vision. Not attacking a wounded Thurston in Origin being a classic example.
Mitchell doesn't seem to be any closer to being a game manager than he was before his Australia Day antics.
He also still gets the "deer in the headlights" look whenever things aren't going according to Plan A.
I doubt he will win another comp unless he miraculously aquires these skills, or we buy another champion like SBW to drag him over the line.
Okay rant over, I'll see myself back into my box.

We get a chance to repay the favour at their shit stadium in round 25. I recall a game against the cowboys in 2014 where we were flogged by a similar margin but bounced back. Echo the points about the lack of go forward off our bench - not sure why we let Moa go considering what we're getting from Liu & Evans. Boyd is so critical to our chances this year - but hoping we can jag a couple of big bodies for 2018 so there's not so much of a reliance on 1 to 2 players moving forward. Boyd is also an inspirational leader, we need to nominate a suitable VC - was hoping JWH would step up to the plate. Jake plays loads better when he doesn't have the 'c' next to his name.

How disappointing have Lui and Evans become! Both had big potential but are offering very little. We are in real need of a big prop with good yardage. With all the players we let go before June 30 I'm very surprised we didn't sign anyone..Originally posted by Red_Rooster View PostWe get a chance to repay the favour at their shit stadium in round 25.
